GB Interest: FC & FB Bi-xenon HID PROJECTOR - SakeBomb Garage

Dan and I have been recieving tons of PM's, emails, and posts regarding the possibility of producing stock fitting bi-xenon projectors for the FC and FB. We are currently only making FD projectors, but would consider possibly making similar projector setups for the other rx's. This is NOT a group-buy thread but rather an interest thread.

These lights would use the same hardware and electronics as our FD kits (we have selected ONLY the highest quality components for the FD kit). This includes clear optics for a sharp beam pattern and cutoff, philips OEM 3800K bulbs, 35w Greddy ballasts, plug and play wiring harness requiring no modifications to wiring. This is **NOT** a $75 H4 HID kit... these is a complete housing modified to accept an HID projector.

If these do happen the price will not be cheap. I want to say that flat out as the only HID "kits" available sell for 75 bucks. These H4 "kits" are cheap garbage that will blind other drivers and NOT improve your lighting on the road. I'm happy to discuss the H4 kits in this thread, and dispel all of the rumors and misinformation circulating regarding them. If you are looking for this type of H4 kit, please head elsewhere... this is NOT an H4 retrofit kit! We will only be using the highest quality parts and there is a ton of work involved with making this kit work for the FC or FB. These two housing types will require even more extensive modifications compared to the FD housings. The minimum estimate for pricing will be same as the FD HID's $750.00 and possibly higher considering how much more needs to be done to these compared to the FD lights (already very labor intensive). That's the bad news... the good news is that you will have the very best in lighting available for your FC or FB with no modifications and stock appearance and functionality.

Please view the beginning of the FD thread for more details and examples of light output. -> https://www.rx7club.com/vendor-classifieds-276/gb-bi-xenon-hid-projector-sakebomb-garage-867943/ :icon_tup:

**Please only add your name if you are SERIOUS about your interest in a pair of these headlights. If our "gauge of interest" is overly inflated with tire kickers or wishful thinkers it may harm the possibility of making a GB like this a reality. So please think before adding your name to show your interest. (please note FC or FB) Thank you! -Heath

I have seen these kits in person, both on and off the car. I must say they are absolutely beautiful. Simply THE BEST option for our cars. You can't beat the pop-ups, but the stock lighting is dangerously pathetic. Personally, I have a plug & play non-projector HID kit, but I plan on upgrading to one of these projector kits.

Excellent quality, looks great, and you can't beat the light brightness/pattern that it produces. Get in line guys...you need this kit.

I'll get some pics up of the FB lights in a few days... I'm still working on them :)

Guys understand that pricing around 750 is a STEAL of a price! I am on a few HID retrofit forums and know a few of the big guns and they charge no less than 1000 for their service. These def look good and have a nice, sharp cutoff.

2GSLSE 01-18-10 08:42 PM

I MAY be interested in a set for the FB depending on when it is available. ( I am in on the FD set already and waiting)

ICEY? 01-21-10 11:17 AM

No you cant use your current bulbs... these are *real* HID's ;) hence the price. This is not a $75 toy for a civic :D

This is the output of the FD projector we built... the FC/FB prototypes are the same

and a slideshow I made to explain the difference between H4 hid kits and actual projector HID's

Thumbs up for a quality product. Don't stand down on price.

thunkrd 01-22-10 03:42 AM

interested in this, i recently bought a 400 dollar 20 watt hid flashlight, and my friend has a 2400 dollar 50 watt flashlight... must make my headlights brighter than my flashlight lol

Scrub 01-22-10 08:35 AM

What flashlight costs 2400?! lol

a standard 50 watt ballast with standard HID bulb should have similar output... the 2400 must be for really nice optics ? or maybe its just a name brand thing. Its damn bright though.

I'll get pics of the FB prototypes up shortly... im still working on them. -Heath

Yeah but that flashlight is TINY! That's definitely sick! That's gotta be blinding

thunkrd 01-25-10 10:35 AM

the flashlight is expensive because the ballast is extremely advanced and small, also the whole flashlight itself is just barely bigger than my 20watt.. and has the same run time. also the color temp is quite nice, not as blue as most HIDs

Count Me in. FC btw.

Do you have an idea of when these would be ready for the FC? Hopefully before the year ends. Also where can I read more info on the design of the headlights? My main curiosity is where I can find new bulbs if the ones I buy burn out.

Force13B 01-26-10 02:49 PM

I missed out on the FD GB anyway i can get in on some?

Bulbs are stock OEM standard d2s philips bulbs...

used on every stock HID light setup from nearly every car manufacturer. Whether they will be done in a matter of months, by years end, or never really depends on the interest in them. If there is not much interest they wont happen unfortunately. -Heath

FB / Miata mockup (dont mind the shrouds not being lined up... they are not mounted yet as we are still experimenting with different options)

Pele 01-27-10 07:12 AM

What donor projectors are you planning on using?
Ones with the Motorized cutoff for high and low beam?

What warranty are you planning on providing?

I'm interested. If these are a legitimate 6054 headlight conversion, I may want a set for both my FC and my truck.

On a side note, I hate the fact that this forum is sponsored by a fuckoff group that markets those illegal H4 conversions.

Thank you for answering my question. I am def interested in these as I hate driving my car at night b/c if there are no light posts on the road, I can't see more than 10ft in front of me.
