Yo!

Don't take this post to personal!

I clicked on your profile and saw your main pic of you FD.

That thing is SWEEEET...
BUT

Something has got to be done about the white on white on white on white scheme. Color coordinating has it's needs in the worlds but I think you or the person you got the FD from has gone too far!!!
Not sure if you pieced it all together or if the previous owner did so you still have an excuse route hahaha

The wing or the wheels you pick but one of them most go! hahaha
I vote for them both but if it were only going to be one I guess the wheels are my first choice.

Feel free to hate on my car if you like as I am sure there are plenty of things that lots of people don't find tasteful on my car such as the MazdaSpeed MS02 wheels on an FC.

!!!Brainstorm!!!
Lets make this thread a critique of East forum guys cars. Be as nasty as you want but dont bother reading any further if you are not willing to deal with people hating or saying things could look better.

Blah... Carry on

Haha..i was so shocked to see my nick as the thread title.

That wing and bodykit is genuine Mazdaspeed. The previous owner who was alot more wealthy than me, spent 400,000 just purchasing the wing, front bar and sideskirts. He spent a further 300,000 getting it painted and fitted. Ive never been a fan of GT wings but i love mine now. You find me a genuine Mazdaspeed wing for less than 100,000yen and i will buy it.

I would actually like to get some Bronze CE28Ns in 18inch to fill the gaps in the wheel arches but im so tight for money at the moment trying to pay for my damn citizens tax. The lightweight white rims look fine for now.

Well first of all, i would love to congradulate you on a great DIY look FC. The rims look like youve used a can opener to craft them. They just dont match the race theme youve got going on. But seeing that they are Mazdaspeed, i will let them pass.

Are you Japanese? Where are you from originally?

ahhh you cheated!!!!
No pics in the rain!!!
LOL
Your wifes R33 GTS-T looks great!

Now your car is a bit on the bland side of Japanese FC`s. I love the wheels, and i have yet to see what ohlins suspension it has but I potentially love them, all in all the car is a great base to start with. I think the first thing I would do with the car is either paint it red again or find a body kit that I wanted and paint he car along with the kit. Or you can try and find all new body parts that are not faded like some of yours. Anyhow I am looking forward to seeing this project progress.

What you consider bland, I consider clean. I prefer the near stock look. I love the original lines of the car and I don't like body kits that take away from the stock appearance of the car. I agree with you on the wheels, they definitely made the deal that much sweeter. The suspension is not Ohlins, it's Bilstien. Originally I thought they were tein, but I actually got down there and read the whole name.

I don't intend to invest too much into this car. I love it and I'll take care of it, but as for paint....I just don't see it happening. Not when the car is basically a throw away. If i find out in stone that I can bring it back with me and have it legal, then I may consider paint. Then again, if I bring it back...I can't promise that it will remain rotary.

Thanks for the compliments on the r33. It took a while for that hood to grow on me, but I like it now. That thing makes my rx7 feel so slow. The turbo comes into boost at less than half throttle below 2000 rpm. The r33 also rides way better, and is far more comfortable to drive. But, I prefer the way the rx7 seems to fit me just perfect. It's quirky and i like that.

Im sorry those wheels look terrible. Its fair enough to have a car like a camry with stock wheels but to have a skyline, that looks half modded with the hood and not have aftermarket wheels is a crime.

Im surprised that you like the skyline better. But it is alot newer than the FC. I would rather a FC to an R33 anyday.

basically a throw away
Why did you buy this FC if it is basically a throw away? I reckon that nice FCs go for around 500,000yen. Not really that expensive. Which leads me too my next question, how much did you pay?

Your FC looks nice to me anyway from the pictures and those wheels look great on it. I agree, im not really a fan of the bodykits for FCs. But a nice CF lip would look nice and maybe some slick mirrors.

The fc only cost me 2400. It's a throw away because I'm not here forever and I can't bring it back with me. I bought it, because I liked it and wanted some experience with a rotary.

I said I like the rx7 more than the r33, not the other way around. But if I did like the skyline more, I'd site reasons such as:
It rides better
It's a quieter ride
It's faster
It has more torque and is infinitely more driveable
It doesnt smell like it's running rich all the time

Those reasons, are why it's my wifes car.

The r33 is as I bought it. It is a throw away car as well. It has that hood and those rims because I bought it that way. I refuse to drop money into this car because it is my wifes car. If I found someone with a stock silver hood, I would sell mine and take trade in a heart beat.

I can easily arrange for you to trade your carbon hood for a stock mint condition silver one. Give me a call if you are serious.

i always wanted an FC but in Australia they were always too expensive for me.

Im sure you could get a reasonably priced respray. it would only need a quick respray in the same colour. If you have the room you could have a go at it yourself.

Heres some inspiring FC for ideas.

I reckon your first mod should be a nice big GT wing!

I've been told I can get the respray done for less than 700 bucks. I've seen their work, and it actually comes out pretty nice. The only thing they don't spray is under the hood.

But, that is a luxury item to me for cars here. I know sooner or later someone here on base is going to open a door into it, or back into it in a parking lot. The way I see it is, it isn't too bad and I won't get really upset if someone messes it up.

I'd rather sink money into the go than the show. I'm in the process of acquiring a dp and a presilencer. After that I'm going to go standalone, make a DIY CAI, and increase the boost to around 1 bar. I'm not quite sure how satisfied that till make me. If it still isn't enough, it will be time for a turbo.
