My first rx7... first impressions...
A M A Z I N G ! ! ! !
that's the word my brain keep rollin when I'm inside the cabin.
The FC3S TurboII is really great and true sports car.
I got a 1990 s5 from Germany, through hIGGI really good tuneup and finally after a long trip I got it back from Prague to my Rimini
Before continuing my "review" , a little background: I'm 28, last 10 yrs driving.I had in my box a EG6 , a SW20 , a ST165 and now the FC3S. ll in all I loved a lot each car, because everyone had its uniqueness... and I tried each both on tracks, on mountain passes and in "normal" spirited driving around.Tried a lot of friends car...that include 350z, impreza, Civic TypeR, Integra TypeR, S2000, Silvia S14, m3 e30 & e36, M5 , NSX...and so on, so I humbly think I have quite a bit of comparisons in my pocket...
Well, I must admit that the rx7 is damn a really good car... the first and most shocking thing is the damn good weight balance..the car handles simply great, even if it's on its original setup with 16 yrs and 170k km... still really flat and quite stiff...car handles really great, almost neutral and really predictable. It got a lot of grip too... and obviously the best part is within the hood...the wankel is really not a competitor in any way...it stands in its class, no way to compare...or to be a bit more picky maybe can be compared to s2000 when its in VTEC cams..damn plenty of torque even starting really low, and keeping it going up until almost redline...it's simply damn good..not really comparable to a boinger...it seems to be asking for more and more revving... I love this tipe of engines (and my pocket is aware of this...I will end up putting something behind the gas pedal, or else the car MPG will be forever low )
One thing I love too is the simple and still good looking... atm car is wingless, I was sure to get it back winged...but now I am still debating...paint will be needed, but I can do it by myself... lucky me
A thing I really hate is the brittleness of the ca plastics interior...damn mazda is really poor on this, even my sw20 (that was targa - open roof) had better plastics , even after being opened each summer for past 15 yrs...the plastics are really poor quality...and the sensation is really of old things...
Last thing I must say, the alignment and fittings of car parts and panels aren't so good for a stock car...I thing I saw lotsa better stock fitting cars, even older (BMW in particular...) had better finisments.
Anyway, I am still getting the hang of the car since I got it on saturday and so...well I just wanted to tell you all that I finally am aboard teh forum for real...and I will start to post more regularly about my car health and situations in future...even if I really hope there will be little problems since mazda rotary and italy is lik saying a white fly... let's hope I won't need a lot of work on it.
For now the car is stock apart the emission removal and fitment of a downpipe instead of cat and silencers... hIGGI told me my car have around 8-9 psi this way...but I must admint that I'm not after big numbers, I am pursuing the best driving experience, and I must be hones tsaying the car is the most promising of every car I ever sat driving ..
Now I can uinderstand why every rx7 owner is so proud of his own car...damn I am proud even if the car is in my box fo no more than a couple days
Ciao From a new rx7 owner from Italy.
Cody.
P.s.
Thanks nd respect and everything good I can say/think/yell and so on goes out to hIGGI.You did a reallty great job my friend. I think I owe you a lot

BTW, is Higgi the European RX-7 pimp or what???
"The answer to this question is most definatly yes!!!! I've been reading a few things in the stateside 2nd gen forums and there's a lot of guys runnin' Higgitrix parts in the states so that should tell you something. Higgi = Uber RX7 Pimp!!!! In fact, I think my RX7 is the only one in Europe that Higgi hasn't touched or owned, lol! And to be honest, I could be wrong about that!!!!" --K.ronic
Another 7 to support K.ronic's theory

congratulation with a new 7!!
the reaseon for the rx7s good handling is that the weight is 50-50 on the front and the back tire. if you want some easy power tuning, you have to remove the exhaust pump and everething to it
