I havent been able to log on for about 3 days now.....and I suppose because the RX8 forum runs on the same server(s), I couldnt log on to that forum either....

Lets do some hijacking again

Any of you guys do track days ?
I went once and spun over a kerb, disconnecting the MAP sensor and thinking my engine went kaboom. Only did lik 3-4 laps. Will be going again in 3weeks. Hopefully I'll have the new wheel installed by then and also the ECU, DP and intakes. My personal best with VTEC CRX was 1:17.5 with huge mistake in one of the corners (but still managing to go fastest). With RX7 I only did 1:22sec, but I had to go partial throttle because I didn't have ProfecB installed at the time and had to monitor the boost gauge the whole time. And was getting used to the car. I think I should do 1:12sec with Rex when I get used to it.

On another occasion a friend of mine with highly tuned NA Civic (runs 14.0sec 1/4mile) ran 1:14.7

I think I can do 1:16.5sec in CRX and as already said, 1:12 in RX7 when I get used to it.

Any other experinces ?

Back from the track, its been fun and with 50 euro less in the wallet I dont complain.
ANyways, I kindda forgot to bring my camera, sorry guys.
The track was challenging but there was a formula ford guy there to tell us what to watch out for. The first hour was practiceruns, and we got a oneway walkie talkie in the car with us so that he could give us pointers on how to take the turns and curves, really nice guy besides that he drove a Golf R32, a decent looking car but the speed didnt impress me eventhough he was faster than most of us.
At one time the rain showed its ugly face, trust me this is not the track you wanna drive in the rain. Luckily it was a quick shower, but nevertheless I had a few close encounters with the kerbsides and at one time being sideways something like 55 degrees to the track, But ofcourse im the greatest driver in the world so I saved it...

First time on the track with FD I had to do some corrections being too-enthusiastic on the throttle, but also spun once. That was when my MAP sensor got disconnected and I lost power...

Going again in 3 weeks after I install my HP goodies

This time, EVO VI, 400hp 300ZX, Imprezza, BMW M3, 911 Turbo, race Integra and my FD will be attending this session. I'm so excited about it ! This stuff will be better then Best Motoring

Kim, what is so funny about spinning the FD on the track ? Happened before...

FxF, I usually take my digital camera with me to these track events. I'll take few shots and upload them somewhere...

 

Sorry just kidding, im so used to seeing Oliver spin his car, that im thinking that it could be the car. But it is just the fact that you guys have much more power than I do No Offense, im just jealous

 

You cannt spin the GLX ?

I know that its way easier with 240HP or even 200HP, but with the N/A 145HP or 160HP, it should be also rather easy......
