yeah, Belgacom sucks... they are over expensive, underachieving loosers. I wish I had choosen Telenet (still the fastest, but it might not be available in Brussels) back then. I paid to much for the Belgacom stuff too. Nowadays the package costs a lot less then two years ago...
They say up to 30 times faster then dial up but I often download at 4 or 5 kps!!! These days the fastest speed is like 13-15kps... It depens on where you are though, as my brother has belgacom adsl too, and he gets close to 100...

just wanted to bring this thread back to your attention. as we are starting to hijack again ;-) (did we ever stop anyway?)
Anyway, seems the tire problem will be solved, apart from 7 weeks waiting... I'll put 225 on the rear wheels just until then, and ask to move the new 225 to the front once the 255's are in. And then: BURN OUT!!!
Well, maybe not, with 250euro for one tire...

Kim, just to put things in perspective, I'm tired of the USA-suckers telling us what to do.
They start getting on my nerves, and if they go in to Iraq, I can only hope it becomes a second Vietnam. This sounds hard, but after all their arrogance, they ******' deserve it. If any of them wants to take up the (verbal) fight, I can explain them exactly why Bush (worlds nr 1 idiot) wants to defeat Sadam. And, no it is not because of Human Rights.

Some info: all big chiefs in the Bush administration are into/have been into oil and or energy companies, all are millionaires. Fact 2: Bush tells us Iraq develops nukes, and after many weeks finally gives us "proof"... No-one really believes him, apart from Tony Blair. Now Powell had to admit "evidence" was FAKE and made up. Who's fooling who?

and what about north Korea ... the USA hasn't ever officially stopped being at war with them !

I've given up arguing in the lounge (see the 1.3 litre post!) ... its not what this forum is for ... which is talking to other people who love RX7's !

Hey Bart have you heard any rumours about Alstom from your end ? I'm obviously quite concerned right now (seeing as I work for them!)

Dont know about you, but I finally got my modem this weekend (they send it to me last Friday at 5:05pm, after having told them that I would be there after 5, and I arrived home at 5:06 Must have missed the courier by seconds). So I had to go to their warehouse, which is in the middle of nowhere (couple of km south of Gare Du Midi)........

Anyway, I installed it and, first time I logged on, I connected at 10Mbps Afterwards, I connect at 3,3Mbps. It seems that speeds are dependent on the hour. I mean, during the day I'll be lucky if I download at a total of 20-30KB/s, but after ditching eDonkey (it sucks major donkey ***** ) and going back to good old Kazaa, last night I downloaded Friends at 100KB/s There are still 3 episodes that I havent downloaded (9.13, 9.15, 9.17), so I should be finished today afternoon.

And on a completely different note, after finishing Baldur's Gate II and Throne of Baal, I decided to play the good old RPGs once more: Dungeon Master, the Eye of the Beholder 1,2 and 3, and the two Ultima Underworld.......

I've given up posting anywhere else but the european forum. Average post in first gen forum is about a bodykit that isn't a bodykit (but a handcrafted piece of art, allthough tasteless art in my opinion). I came to the conclusion that americans seem to be as brainless as their president, apart from some exceptions. Who are on the european forum anyway.
Right now my opinions are getting much more radical, because Bush, Aznar and Blair are a danger to our planet. Aznar and Blair are not at all supported by the people the are supposed to represent, making them nothing else but dictators, and, imo, legimate targets. Shooting either of them cannot be called a act of terrorism, since shooting Hitler wouldn't have been one either. In a democracy, leaders have to be backed by the people. Neither Aznar nor Blair are, yet they are going to get young men killed in a war that isn't worth fighting... Sad, really sad.
It is time to stand up against them, and (peacyfully) resist their madness. People who know, say no against war.
As for the USA, they are refusing to accept the fact that no nation (the people that is, not leaders) backens them. They told us lies. They said the had evidence Sadam had nuklear weapons/tried to develop them. When the inspectors said this was not the case, Powell had to admit the evidence was FAKE (suppose no forum-poster in the lounge has heard this?). Why should I believe those liars then???
Since I cannot change much about the plans of Bush, Blair and Aznar, I decided to do the few things I can do. I will not buy any products from the USA, Spain and UK as long as they support the war. I will not go on a holiday there. I will not do any military transports (the company I work for does a lot of them). My pride is more important then my job. I will not do anything that supports this dirty war.
And I hope that people of Spain and the UK stand up against the dictators that will sacrifice human lives for the sake of oil. But Blair won't send out HIS son, will he?
I can only hope someone saves us from those evil men.
If the USA can attack nations without the UN backing this, why can't another nation do the same?
Why should I care for terrorists, if Bush is one himself? War with Iraq is a violation of international right, and the USA should urgently be disarmed. Bush Blair and Aznar must be put on trial for crimes against humanity.

All I can say is the UK is fcuked up place if Blair can lead a country to war without at least a majority of the people behind him

truth of the matter is ever since the 2nd world war and the huge debts we owed the US for arms and aid + money to rebuild our economy we have only been 1 step away from being a frigging state of the USA !

I'm seriously thinking of emigrating to Oz if Alstom go belly up in Lincoln (taking my 7 with me of course!)

Mike, I hope you're going to keep the job... It's really fucked up. The economy isn't going well, and then some powerhungry maniacs are going to start a war, making the whole thing even worse. I don't want to think about the amount of people who are going to loose their jobs because of this war! I'm really angry these days. The people in Europe are united in the wish for a peaceful solution, yet leaders do not care... Who's the dictator here???
It's just like the "civil war" song from guns and roses... "It feeds the rich while it burries the poor"...

Bush Jerk of the Year

Just wanted to let you guys know that a weekly magazine in Belgium, called Humo (pretty popular) has given the results of the latest "Pop-poll". The readers choose the most popular, aswell as most unpopular people, mainly in music and TV business, and some belgian politics.
In the catogery "lul van het jaar", "******** of the year", George-dobbel-you-Bush was elected as the nr1 choice, with about 3 times the votes from the runner-up. And this for the 3rd year in a row! What a hatrick!
Congrats to Mr Bush, who, it has to be said, has worked very hard to achieve this price. And therefor deserves it.

Now who would get your vote guys?

Bart, I was just wondering where you heard this. That Powell said the evidence was fake?? Do you have a link or did you see it on tv?
Thanks
