Wolf 3D V4 Load Settings?

I was trying to load some base ignition setting into the ignition map last night and came accross the problem that I knew what timing I wanted to use at a certain manifold pressure, but didn't know where that was on the map, because load is expressed as a percentage rather than manifold pressue. ie. The Y axis is a percentage between 0 and 107 rather than a vacuum, boost figure. Is there a way to tell, or work out the relationship between load on the fuel and ignition maps and manifold pressure?

The old V3 had three different load scales toggled via a DIP switch. I don't know what the V4 uses. If you really want to know, you should call your Wolf dealer.

If you plan on live tuning, then you can just look at the manifold pressure and load readouts on the hand controller and software to see the relationship between the two.

Thanks for your reply.
I have sent an email to Wolf tech support and just thought I may be able to get the answer sooner by posting on here.

That's what we have been doing. It just takes longer because when we are setting up our base numbers we have to guess what load point related to what manifold pressure. I will post back a reply here if I find out anything useful.

v3 had a table in the manual based on whether in 12psi or 21 psi mode and how that equated to the 0-100%load scaling. Havent seen the V4 but shouldnt be too hard to calculate if you know what your map sensor max is etc. to work out base map b4 a competent tuner sets up properly.

Here is the reply I got from Wolf. That's a good idea about the syringe, I don't know why I didn't think of it myself. Now I just have to find where "maximum boost is calibrated" in the software because I don't think I have ever seen any mention of that in V1.0 of the manual that I have.

no easy way to calculate the load based on the VAC because the LOAD scale changes depending on what your maximum boost is
calibrated to. About the only way is to have the Wolf on but the engine not running, put some vacuum on the map sensor and jot down
the load values for the vac you draw. You can use a syringe with a bit of vac hose on it or just suck on the vac line to operate the
sensor.

I have this all sorted out now. It turns out that in V4.4 you can't set the maximum boost for the load sensor it is just set from the factory. It turns out mine was set to 12psi for some reason. I have now had my computer upgraded to V4.56 and have that option along with a lot of other updates.

The Wolf also has Min - Max datalogging now. About time to!

Yes, I really complained about that. I also complained about the horrible software protection, so it seems like they are dropping the protection so it is freeware like the 3.x software. This is a great idea so that people can download the software to try it out, and I think that a lot of people will like it better than the competition's software.

I'm getting mine upgraded to the Plus model so that I can run SFI on my 20B.

Does the V4.56 min/max datalogging include oxy logging like the 3.x?
