The motor blew a year later. I was getting the car ready to debut at the same JustDrift event. We had the car on the dyno late fri nite, supposed to leave early sat. morning.
Luckily it happened on the dyno with the hood off and close eyes on it to shut it down immediately.
If I was on the track when that happened, the hood would have been shut and I the car would have burned to the ground.

Okay, alittle update.
Pics of motor problem area

These are the 2 different housings I found on the motor upon teardown...

New year, new motor...

Justin built a motor for me. Not something he normally does for people, but his skills are vast.

Will post numbers shortly.

Awesome dude!! Any info on the motor? Ported? Factory seals? I like how much space your v-mount has from the motor. My v-mount was about 2 mm from the main pulley.

What did you use to make that bracket for the LS coils? I have a set, dunno how to mount them though.

I got 2 questions for you.
1. who built your turbo manifold?
2. what kind of spark plug wires are you using?
your fc is soo sick.

The manifold is JTP's old one he had on his green fc.
The wires are custom made msd wires.

I'm working out of town until the 12th so all work has stopped. I was sooo hoping to get to rd 1 in vegas but just not going to happen.
Whatever happens I just can't wait to start spinning tires again. It has been over a year. Talk about "jonesing"!
Worse than drug withdrawels at times.

Is there any benefit to using REW housings and rotors? Do you have to modify anything? Will they work withS4 as well?

Thanks.

REW is lighter. Housings are the same. Learning that housings are housings, as long as they are BOTH the SAME!

Alright cool, just wondering. I'm working on piecing a spare engine together. Mine has 90k on it. Seeing as my 7 isn't my daily, I beat the **** out of it every time I drive it.

A few years later, married, moved to beautiful San Diego and finally back at it.
Now running 2 44mm wastegates , another motor built, and hopefully starting in a couple of days.
I really want to get out on the track for 2014.

The decision has been made. I am selling entire engine, tranny(3 total), v mount, turbo, waste gates, manifold, Haltech E8 with 13B harness, everything rotory related.

the engine is a brand new built big streetport s5 motor. runs great. Only 2-3 hours run time idling and first to second gear change on my street. Haltech is not completely tuned but it starts up and runs.

V mount set up is a from Hotline performance as is the manifold and dual 44 wastegates set up.
BOV is attached to pipe near I/C.
