Jeff Jones FD3S Formula-D car buid
This build really is EPIC. The amount of work done in that period of time is crazy. And for anyone who thinks this car looks bad... Honestly... who gives a $hit. It could be painted with dog crap, a paint job or choice of body work has never made anyone win a race/drift event ever. The car performs well and that is what matters. After Jeff starts winning rounds in this thing you'll probably see kids in their civics repping their un-painted kits.
I saw this FD at Formula Drift Long Beach and it was pretty cool and considering that this thing was put together in 8 weeks is pretty damn impressive, so looking a little rough around the edges gets a pass.
Ok let’s get this back up to speed.
Sorry about leaving you guys hanging. Rd1 at long beach had me really busy.
March 27th took the car to tech day at UTI.

Once we got back Rene got to work on the turbo mock up.

Planning it out. It’s a tight fit.

See, all your fab work looks top notch... I really like the set up, and what you're doing mechanically....
I feel like the car could be way better looking with a full yellow paint job, and a well thought out graphic scheme... It's just that I've seen way too many douche bags driving around with unpainted kits, that it's impossible to not feel like it looks unfinished. Maybe if you had continuing lines of yellow across the kit, so that it isn't just the fiberglass black/car yellow. Maybe if you painted the whole car yellow, and had carbon accents along the bottom(splitters, etc) it would look way better.
Looks like you put way too much work(and nice work) to leave the car with a real bad looking paint scheme.
Trying to be constructive.

Uhm. I dont know what you did to that compressor housing, but it looks awful. Super awful. Almost as bad as the flat black bumper. Other than that the fab work looks pretty great.
I was just giving him a hard time. Given the rest of the car, Im sure it's the shot that makes it look as bad as it does. If it isnt up to snuff it will reveal itself in short order.
