Heavy or light flywheel for drifting? Whats you opinion?

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on flywheel weight. I currently run a ten pound flywheel on my 13bt but am considering going heavyer for more throttle control and slower rising revs. When the car is in a skid it's hard to keep it away from the rev limiter
What do other drifters recommend??

Better throttle control or shift up?

Why you trying to keep it away from the rev limiter? I like lighter, if its lighter its more responsive to your inputs and also its easier to get the revs back up if it startes to bog down.

if you clutch kick much you dont want to go too light because you need the inertia of a heavier flywheel for clutch kicking to be effective.

Cheers for the input all.. It feels like i could prob do with a bit more inertia. I'm just looking to hold the revs more easily in the drift between 5 and 8 grand.

never had a problem with clutch kicking a light flywheel but to each his own i guess.

heavy takes from response and the power going to the ground dont see any advantage to having more inertia in drifting

Does power effect the decision of getting a lighter flywheel or keeping a heavier one?

It's all preference.

After you drive for a while, you'll figure out just what you need. You can feel it.

That's why when i first got my rx7 everyone told me to leave it alone and drive it, ALOT and then figure out how i should go about modding.

yea im running a stock flywheel and like 240 hp and it feels good but my bro has a 3 puck clutch and a 11lb flywheel and that **** is tooo ******* sick. Turn 4 at firebird main is can be linked differently when i drive his car. that **** is at like 375 horses but still it breaks with ease when i just front brake and press the clutch simultaneously then floor it pre apex of the turn. wish i had vid of that turn but yea i love the three puck and lightweight they seem to go hand in hand. havent done much clutch kicks with his set up cuz outta respect and also the power and welded diff breaks it loose too easy, but i heard of the aluminum flywheel heating up with mad cluth kicks sessions maybe it could **** up or warp due to heat...

It causes hot spots on the friction surface.
