So i am getting **** for posting on old threads. i figured id give you guys a new fresh one. i have heard about people doing a mod to there ebrake for drifting in toyotas something about taking the round screw off of the door hinge and putting it in place of your button on your ebrake. that way when you need the brake to stay engaged for parking you twist it in. and for drifting you twist it out so you can pull up and let it go and it will fall back down. does ANYONE know the steps or tips on how to do this ?

You're looking for a "Spin Turn ****" you can pretty much get them anywhere and I believe they're universal unless someone can correct me. Here's one I found just by Googling "Spin Turn ****"

depends on the course.

However, from every drfting video i have seen from the states, I would agree.
90% of them have no technical aspects that would require a handbrake or are just using it to initiate and not to extend a drift. I believe there are certain corners where its just the most logical thing to do.

yeah i didnt use the ebrake learning but since i want to be good i figured better learn everything. but id like it to be available. thanks for the input on the spin turn **** i will buy one of those. very helpful tho.
as it turns out not everyone on here sucks ****. haha. most guys go into the drifting section to talk ****. but i appreciate the help guys. anymore is welcome.

its adjustable tho right? so you can set it up to drop or turn it in so you can park too? thats why the screw is good. hit me back so i can order one.

You take the spring out and screw the new **** on there but not all the way.

when you want to lock the brake for parking you have to pull the **** out. When drifting you just pull up on the handle and it will go back down not locking so you you can pull it multiple times to control your rear tires.

My problem with them is that you have to always adjust them because it will unscrew with vibrations from driving. I guess some loctite or something might help.

like a year and a half ago i got one from more-japan that came with a shift ****. it was kazama made and screws down all the way and still works great i also hear that the cusco ones can go all the way down without getting in the way of anything.

i hardly ever use hand brake so i dont have this piece in my car but if i think i may need something like that at the track then i just use gorilla tape and tape my button in.

its good for extending drifts and connecting corners.

i know ive done runs and though "damn i should've hit the ebrake right there and it would've been AWESOME" but i didn't and it sucked. lol

well i dont have ps and use my ebrake for things like the above. if its not kicked out quite enough or if its an acutal hair pin i will usualy use it. but i do alot more power overs. but cant be good just having one trick up your sleeve. haha.

I have trouble using my ebrake... I can park with it fine. but to initiate with it, it just doesn't seem to work... Maybe its by timing when I initiate...

try better rear brakes ( if you havent already) and i guess timing like you were saying. mine seems to work out pretty well. very nice fc btw mine looks just like that a little less clean and no rims yet but pretty close.

It normally helps to also lay your foot over on the foot brake when pulling the ebrake. This is for initiating. It will helps set the weight of the car and give some extra umph in the rear brakes.

another trick to getting away from the ebrake and getting your drift to carry out longer to reach that next corner... left foot braking. it takes practice but keep your gas pedal going and brake with your left foot. slows the front down so you can continue your drift.

i try to learn left foot brake control by using my left foot to come to a stop at intersections. great practice!

good idea man. ive done it a couple times. im still tryin to learn heal toe braking ***** hard with no tilt wheel and the stock wheel not enough room for me.
