I can go to an autoX even or a rallycross event and then when I am done I take the duct tape off, BAM working e-brake again. A penny will also work.

u can twist the button off and not have a locking e brake, then to put on u just take the plastics off the ebrake and screw the button on

Left foot braking slows you down and pulls you into the corner while maintaining wheel speed. It also settles the car nicely. I don't see how it extends a drift.

i found that if i feather the left brake that i can keep my drift because it slows me down. on a long drift with lower horsepower cars, they have a tendency to straighten out from speeding up and already having a shallow angle. so if you can keep the speed down you can stay on the gas and keep the angle and the wheels spinning as opposed to just holding the slide with the ebrake.

hmm i havent tried left foot braking im kinda new to drifting ive been using clutch kicks power overs and ebrakes to do mine and using the hand brake to extend drifts. how hard do you hit the foot brake? if its hard enough to upset the balance it seems like you would stop or get close to doing so. please explain. pm me if you have to.

yeah i dont see how left foot braking maintains wheels speed. unless your rear brakes are disconnected.

im not road racing. i have never had to left foot brake at the track

Left foot braking = braking + gas (otherwise you would use your right foot). You maintain wheel speed by giving it gas while left foot braking.

Think of it like this, when you are gripping, you go into a corner too fast, what do you do? you hit the brakes. Same concept applies. You are drifting into a corner going too fast and are going to completely over shoot the apex/clipping point, you hit the brakes, BUT if you want to maintain the drift you have to keep the rear wheels spinning, right? So you give it gas at the same time. The rear brakes are easy to over come and the rear wheels will spin while the front wheels/brakes are slowing you down, thus pulling you into the corner.

You dont hit them that hard, but you have to give it the right amount of brake AND gas to keep the rear end out and to hit the clipping point. It's alot of modulation.

So why don't you understand how you maintain wheel speed?

Same here, though i'm weary of locking up the rear with the handbrake and then powering over. It's so much easier to feint or clutch kick. I'll get it. Just need to get my car done so i can learn more. It's rediculous how much work i have to do now. I keep finding stuff messed up that needs fixing.

Feint and clutch kick always does the job for me. I should be able to get my feints and braking drifts pretty solid with my new setup. I love weight transfer slides.

Accel off if you have the *****. Definately feels weird. Best way to drift an ff imo and is great in an fr if you get it right. Come in hot as ****, release the gas and turn it at the same time, counter when you feel the rear kick out (and you will, be ready for it, dont touch the ******* brakes or you'll spin) and apply throttle where needed to complete the corner. Not sure how it would be in an fc with the 50/50 weight split but in most other cars that are front heavy and somewhat responsive, it's pretty easy and fun to do.

because brakes are designed to slow the wheels down. even if you are on the gas
