Do you have a manual rack or did it have power steering? If you had power steering and just took the belt off it'll be heavy. If you have a manual rack it's not all that bad. Just only when you take off the belt off the pump.

My old na had a power rack with no power to it. Drifting with it wasnt bad. At first it was kinda hard then something clicked in my head and I changed how I was driving and it got easier while drifting.

I do it all the time it's easy, and I have a t2 power rack converted to manual. Been doing it for years that way. And you can't compare it to a 240. 240's are hard as **** to turn with no PS it's a lot easier in an FC.

Don't modded angle s13's have steering binding issues? That would explain the steering lock.

depends on the car... -but in general I like PS

I blew a line at the last event and made a few passes without PS in my FC. It sucked.

I use a depowered PS rack on my car. It helps to take it apart and depower it. I really cant complain about it for most drifting. If you do any gymkhana or low speed tight course stuff it can get to be a bit much you will have to drive like it is a larger car to compensate for the inability to turn the wheel as fast.

Power steering is obviously better. I would not depower a working rack. My car had problems and it was the cheapest fix at the time and it made the engine room much cleaner.

Hey a drift, I can get a full manual rack right now for real cheap, do you think I should swap it out?

I talked to Justin Pawlak (Forumula D pro driver) and he said that it's a good idea to keep the P/S. Besides, all the people that have driven my car give me compliments on how nice my p/s feels in my car. Mazda did a good job with the design!
