I do everything but heavy feather edging, cutting/shaping by hand. I AM in a HUGE hurry since tuesday is tag day. Not like it matters. Im' just a fan of all one color not looking totally fucked.
About 80 percent done with body work. Passenger door, skirts and hood vent is all that's left. Everything else just needs a quick block and prime. Both jambs are done. For some reason i decided to shoot the entire inner fender/unibody on both sides as well. Nobody is going to see it. I just like using rattle cans alot i guess.

Yeah. Pretty much. Aside from not wearing proper protection and getting icky, sticky and stabbed with tiny peices of glass, it's easy to work with this stuff. I want to try going that route vs buying off the shelf ****.
Dry to the touch after 20 minutes...maybe 25. Sanding is a bitch though. It passes the "stomp" test. I can stomp the **** out of these with my heel and not break anything. I'm still goign to do 2 layers of cloth on the inside of each skirt. Bondo and glass. This was about 30 minutes ago. It got dark. stupid drill died and i ran out of long sheets of 60 grit. The bugs decided to eat me so i let them win.... W/e. Wednesday morning, they'll be done. Tuesday i have to work and get tags and wont have time.
I really, really hate this car and building cars. The passenger side is currently setting up. I'll go check on it later. I stopped measuring my hardener to resin and just measure "squirts". A solo cup with about 1cm worth of resin in it gets 3 good squirts of hardener. It sets up QUICK and it's perfect for doing **** like this.
I dont know why i bother.... They're just going to get destroyed anyway.

Word. Like i said, if i listened to you in the first place, i wouldn't be doing this AGAIN. I still haven't put my spark/skid plates on my front bumper or reinforced it yet but it's comming shortly.
I think it's worth it to have a low car on aero. It just SUCKS doing the actual work.
Why is laying 2 or 3 layers of chopped mat (cloth is stronger if you toss one layer in but pretend i'm not talking about cloth) down stronger than the actual aero itself? I mean, do they just go skimp as **** on the resin or what? **** is like tissue paper.

The shitty thing is, the first time i saw this car, i threw up in my mouth. Now, i actually like it because i understand the point of a drift car. You can have it nice and sexy and whatever. You know? The clean street look. Or, you can just go crazy with it and not care what people think.
You never did throw me a suggestion about glassing those sections of my skirt back together. Got any ideas? I have one but i can't see it turning out good in my head. I'm trying to waste as little material as possible. You work in a body shop so i'm asking....
It was a 15 foot car. Once you got up, you saw the overlap of the vinyl. Although, he did a good job at it mostly. Another kid did this with the orange sparkle on a hachi and it has serious overlap and a patchy look.

My guess is "no"
That gelcoat is SMOOTH. You CAN lay paint directly on top of it but i prefer to sand and prime. I would NEVER paint over straight gelcoat on aero out of the box. That's just plain stupid. Ever see ricers with horrible chips in all of their **** with shiny gelcoat showing from underneath?
That's why.

i am calling for help with my car.
i am not sure where to go with it as far as a body kit and paint color are concerned.
give me ideas, suggestions, whatever... anything that will get my mind working
how it sits right now..
also, i dont leave the headlights like that. i was pulling the wire harness out and had to raise them manually to get to some plugs. that tiny **** hurts the fingers

Dmax didn't wind tunnel that hood did they? The rear vent cancels out the front. All that hot air being pushed down and kept near the exhaust manifold instead of being pushed out through the top. Wouldn't it be more practical to buy a shine hood? Unless you can get dmax cheaper, i'd buy from shine, chaser or fprbodykits on egay.

i'm just a dude saying ill buy some kits to help get this going. i tried for BN, but he wasnt feelin it.. lol too aggressives.
i get Dmax FRP hoods for $300 from forrest, and i think carbon is either $500, or $550.
i just need FRP so i am not scared to crash my car.
i do fully enjoy shine products, however it is about standing out, and already, theres 3 FC's in FD looking all the same...
plus jeremy lowe (i think that was the his name. sorry bro) with the black car looks alot like mine even though his is better.
i really only like the sexystyle hood, however DMAX is just here right now, so i gotta swoop. gotta be different from everyone else.

Understandable. Fully.
Cookie cutter doesn't gain clout or respect. Nobody wants to look like the car beside them in the lineup, unless you're teammates and are going for that look.
I think the best way to stand out and be different is to look at other cars. not just fc's. See what you can borrow from those that noone else has. If **** wont fit, make it fit. If it's too ridiculous or too much work, it's probably worth it.
Some people dont care about that stuff at all and just wanna drive but if you're comming up trying to get your pro license, it makes a big difference. make the people in the stands and the judges go absolutely apeshit. Even if you're not trying to go pro, it builds a sense of pride knowing you painstakingly have given yourself a headache to be original.
