Cabins are super nice.. I forgot to mention.. most of them had a nice hot tub out on the patio....

Yeah.. I say its about 30 miles away from the Dragon... It took us about (40-45 mins) to get there... and I wasn't going that fast... Just cruising speed.

We made maybe 3 round trips and we were averaging about 45..

The other direction (taking US129) took bit longer.. about an hour drive to the dragon.. But some parts were quite insane with insane turns and narrow roads... I was bit scared.. LOL!

 

Speak for yourself, A handfull of us like our paint. ha ha


BTW - I don't see my name anywhere on the list so add me X1 as the wife will be very pregnate and probably will not want to come.

Phil the distance doesn't seem like that bad of a deal given such upgraded accommodations.

It would be really cool if every 7 cruised to the dragon together one day.

What are the dates again, thinking of doing the reservations this weekend for me And for the few BEER DRINKERS AND HELL RAISERS I'll be roomin with.

 

It will be April 11th thru 13th, 2008.

My suggestion is to wait few more days as I'm still waiting for the owner o Nantahala Village to finalize the contract... (I'm trying to get them to do some sort of shuttle service for FREE... and also Parking). Also, if you book now, you might not get the discount... As only those who registered and have a code (different from each person who register) will get the discount..

 

Update:

I just got a response.. Nantahala is going to work on shuttle service for those who do not want to drive up to the steep lodging..

They have also agreed to clean up the BIG lot across the street for us to park and use.. They said they might even pave for us as its half paved and half gravel (crossing fingers).

I just now need to confirm couple of other things and I'll make this official!!

anyone remember the black FD two years ago from MI that came down and drove back on bad coolant seals? I know he used alot of water and did make it home. He contacted me later but I have lost all his info.
He was a younger guy and with his wife who was very pretty so I am sure someone remembers them. I think they were about 25-28 years old. Anyhow I would like to talk to him again before April so I need his screen name, or have him pm me.

OK... I been working with Nantahala Village all day about one issue and finalizing other things. Only one thing I might not get... the shuttle to some of the cabins/houses on the hill. Hope most of understand and hope its not an issue for all. Worse comes worst, some of you have to walk or ride with someone to your cabins.. I'm hoping they are going to help and get us a shuttle but at this time, it might not happen..

If this is a HUGE problem, let me know.. before I start the registration..

 

Phil, if it happens to rain it could be a problem but I will be brining the ole truck so I can help if a problem comes up as well as others.
