what are we going to do about the cop situation? im not up for getting harassed and accused of crimes i didnt commit. has anyone tried to contact the law offices?

 

Relax. They are over-enforcing right now. April is a long ways away, not to mention off-season.

Everyone needs to get over the police issue. If folks are planning to break the law, maybe they shouldn't go.

Alright guys.. as promised.. I guess DGRR 2008 will happen next year. Starting Tuesday, I'll start making some calls and lock down the price ASAP!

This is what's going to happen..

As mentioned before, next year's event you must register to be part of the event. Registration will include 3 meals, discount to the Fontana, T-shirt, entry to car show, and door prizes... Also only registered member will be able to use the banquet hall and attend any seminars and such.

Pricing for the event will be tiered so that those who sign up early will save on registration and deeper discount to Fontana (I'm not going to make a dime on early registration). Also, early registration will help me as it will help me prepare better for the event... Early Registration will End sometime in Dec (as Fontana's 30% discount will end in Dec).

I know some of you will see higher price $$ and might get scared... But to be honest, its actually be cheaper to do it this way and everyone will save time!!

Again, I'm shooting for under $75 for the initial early registration... I need to look into all the material, food cost, renting supplies, room, tables, etc from Fontana, T-shirts, and door prizes to come up with a number.. Hopefully by mid Sept - Early Oct.

Also, please keep signing up here if you are interested in coming.. Better number I have better I could estimate the cost

lets say its $75 a piece per person, correct? what if i wanted a SS and a LS shirt? i usually buy both for my girlfriend and i.

also, why do youneed prices for door prizes? are you buying things to give away? i thought all the door prizes were freebies from the sponsors? you say a seminar, are you planning on having a speaker of some sort?

i MIGHT have other coming with me, but ill need the price before i can be sure or not.

Most likely I'll print extra shirts and also take orders for LS shirts... You could do that during registration or after the registration (those pre-order will be at lower price).

This past event, I actually bought key chains and such to give away. So, that was not a freebies from vendors but freebies from me.

I've asked couple of vendors such as BNR and others if they could do a quick seminar about turbos and such. Since we have a banquet hall, this could be very possible thing to do..

Also, I'm not going to lie, I need to be compensate for the time I spend for the next years event. 1st 2 events I lost money, and last one, I made tiny bit.. only because I printed extra shirts and sold those.. Next year's event I need to at least make mininum wage per hour I spend on this event.. I hope some of you understand I'm not trying to be greedy... because if I was, I rather spend that time working at my real job where I make hell of a lot more.. LOL!

 

Phil, with as many man hours as you are putting into these events. I think we can understand your desire to be marginally compensated. After all, it's all of US who are enjoying the fruits of your labor. Did you even get a chance to make a run down the gap at all during the event this year? I only remember SPOautos driving your car at the event. Anyway, I think most of us appreciate what you're doing here so don't worry about that. Keep me informed on the nametag/sticker requirements, I should still have you covered there.

Yeah, I let SPOautos drive my car as he worked his *** off helping me (and I should also thank you as you did the same!) and felt bad that he didn't have his car... So, I let him take it and I stayed back and cleaned the picnic area. Only driving thru the Gap was when we were caravaning from Chattanooga to Fontana... Just once thru.. LOL!

That would be awesome if you could help out next year, printing the name tag! It should be much easier as I should have all the name and such before the event.

 

The RX8 Fourms members should know aobut this as I've posted about it a long time ago in the DGGR sub forum. In fact a few of them already posted there saying that they already signed up.
