Damn I hate agreeing with you. I've never liked the FC. FB since it was first and is cheap. FD because it has some ***** and is semi modern.

FC just has cheap plastic as its only saving grace. Oh wait, that isn't a good thing....

So you mean, we wouldn't have a bunch of ricers buying the cars because they think they're cool and then completely bastardizing them because they are not car enthusiasts?

What I like most about the FD is the size and weight. If the FC were lighter and smaller I'd be happier. I do, however, like what I've got though.

The FB sold probably 20 times what the FD did, and two or three times what the FC did... so it would almost make more sense to have an FB as the banner (there are still at least 10 FBs out there for every FD still in existence).

Now if this was a JAPANESE RX-7 forum, it would overwhelmingly need to be a picture of an FD.

IMO it should just cycle between the three gens every time you load the page.

I dont think we have it to worry about one way or another. IF we can't get the damn forum server to respond normally, what's to make you think we can get the banner changed?

I have a problem with the forum maybe once every other or third day, so I don't know what everyone else is complaining about. And what problems I do have don't really kill me that much, since all I have to do is count to 30 (or check another website for a second) then refresh the failed pages.

So all the people posting in all the various threads must be wrong, huh.

Sure, at times the forum is actually fine. At other times it is impossible to load even a single page...you just have to call it quits and come back in a couple of hours. Try getting on this bitch around 10pm EST and see how well pages load for you. IT is slow from around 6 until well after midnight for me.

It's fine for me whenever I access it. 10 AM or 10 PM (EST). I guess I wasn't really clear: It sounds to me (since I so seldom have a problem) that others are just bitching a lot because of the one or two inconveniences a week. I could be wrong and particularly lucky, however.

Regardless, that's not the point of the thread.

Back on topic, I vote rotate through the generations (and possibly the LMPs).

Well i can say from personal experience that on a daily basis I get the error as many as 100 times. Some days it is not as bad as others, but it is definitely worse during heavy load times. I don't always get errors, sometimes it simply loads the gray 'grid" background and sits there for 30-90 seconds before it actually loads any text. Imagine trying to read posts and navigate PM's with this behavior EVERY SINGLE TIME you move forward or backward between pages. Then imagine that everything you type must be copied before hitting submit to guard against data loss that would happen if the error presents itself. There are times when I actually have to just give up on the forum and go to another site for a couple of hours before I have any hope of having it work semi-normally.

Think your math is a little off there... I thought even the best year of sales on the SA/FB was less than 60,000 units.

And the complete market failure that the FD was, should not be held to the pinnacle of RX cars. If it really was (the greatest) then they would have sold more than the minisule amount they did.

Heck the RX-8 in its first year sold more than the entire run of the FD over 10 years.

The FD was the absolute opposite of what the RX-7 model was created for and a big marketing blunder by Mazda. It was expensive, difficult to maintain, unreliable... all things that were missing from the first two gen RX-7s. Granted the FD looked the best... but it was like a trophy wife. It looked good, but cost more than the average guy could afford and used up money faster or visited the dealer more often than that trophy wife walking into a Mall.
