I saw it around 700pm around viq square, (LOL i was walking my dog)
at a red light, another older guy around 50-60 with his kid in the car, I gave him a knod as in jestering he had a nice car, and he ****** GUNNED it, threw first/second. sounded very clean V8 with a nice squeel.

 

I have the RHD and I would say that that swapped civic would beat me in a straight line.... but lets take some corners and see where that civic ends up. But hey I'm not offended

 

yea that camaro is fast, which would u rather drive though. personally i love everything about the 7s, all styles. and yea some kids think they are cool cuz the RHD, to me its just a car i love happens to be RHD and i happen to kinda like driving over there, not cuz its cool, or anything cuz i dont care what people think its just differant so its fun thats all. and like i said i didnt mean any disrepect. we are after all all here for the same reason, rx7s. yeah there are alot of cars faster then rx7s i admit, the rx7 wasnt built to be a drag car (can be suited but not original intention) but we can all agree the out of the corner pull of a rotary is something sweet. and u gotta lvoe the power band, turbo or no. i dont need a 10 second car i just need one that i love to drive, goes pretty good, and just happens to turn girls heads 95% of the time its just a bonus of the rx7 package.

Where would you guys say the best place to buy an FD would be from? Im looking for a 92 or newer planning to buy it around spring time but just looking around to find a reputable seller at the moment. So far im leaning towards tyeeimports.

Tyee is good. L-Spec had a bad experience with an importer, he will probably read this and snitch him out so you don't go to him, I'm not sure who it is.

There has been alot of discussion about RHD cars, I just thought I would add my 2 cents(cuz that's all it's ever worth). In my personal opinion being a purist, I happen to like the RHD's. The only reason being that that is how the designers intended the car to be. The cars are Japanese made and intended for that market, the fact the company started to import them here was an after thought. I have always believed that if you are going to but an import, buy the real model and have it imported instead of buying the inferior watered down North American version. Buying the NA version is like buying a copy of a masterpiece. I would buy a RHD FB in a heartbeat(from Japan) if one could be found. I have contacted 2 or 3 companies that state that they never come up for sale. Like I said this was in my opinion, so please take it as such.

 

Ok you guys, A car is a car. If its Right hand drive then its Right hand drive. When it comes down to it, its all about personal preference. For myself I am not a big fan of the right hand drive especially RX7, reason is becuase there is too many of them compare to LHD and the price is alot cheaper but thats my opinion and should not offend any of you. Dont get me wrong RHD RX7 are a sexy car and fast too. When it comes down to it I think all FD's are made in JAPAN so Different **** from the same pile LOL. By the way I am rolling with a RHD motor in a LHD HAHA. Alright guys Race on!

Basically what I was saying was RHD is inconvenient in North America.
and Theres way to many ricers rolling around thinking their stock RHD can rip up other heavily modded LHD Import cars. My 2cents.
I'm speaking in general not just RX7, but like Hollywood said RHD drive RX7 or whatever car are still sharp looking fast cars.

it is just a matter of opinon, its really irrellivant if you think about it. anyways to the guy whos looking for a fd3s...

i went through tyee, its hit and miss like anything, i went there with a compression tester and a vaccum gauge, i tested compression and boost, both were to stock specs, so i bought it, no major problems as of yet. im happy with it, but there was a few others that i looked at that werent soo nice. just dont buy anything you havent tested compression and boost on, and then do your check of the car like you would any other rotary, leaks , sounds etc...

personally, i spend alot more then i thought i would, i bought it for 12500 which was a good price i thought. then i had to get GST and pst paid, witch was about 1400 alltogether. then i had to pay gas and food and hotels all the way there and back, another 1200 or so. then i had one HELL of a time getting headlights for it. hollywood fd helped me out there, i paid him $100 and gave him the ones i'd ordered off ebay for his stock ones. (thanks man) other then him, i dont know where i would have gotten those lights to safety it. cuz no one i talked to would safety it unless it had exact STOCK lights... yeah.. and mazda wanted $600 and 2 months wait to order some from japan..HA ... so with that being said, and taking into consideration the RHD adjustment... (i still cant shift nearly as fast or smooth with my left, but its gets better every time)

i think the guy with the yellow FD got his from the states, i think i read that somewhere, and u could talk to him about what is all entailed in bringing one back from there, but you can definatly get one for good or better price in the USA as tyee will give you. plus from tyee, you dont know WHO had the car, or how bad they bagged it or anything you know.... its tough to see a 2nd turbo leak without taking off the intake piping or hoisting the car up, which is one key thing to look for. plus as was stated earlier, for some reason japanese cars always have rotten brown crap in the cooling system, caused me a broken hose and some greif, i took the UIM off to change the throttle body coolant line. but as rx7 kenn said... i belive, the best bet hands down, is just good old canadatrader, then theres minimal safety concerns and its not too far... ussually. and you kind of know a little about the history, well at least you can search it on carfax... JDM theres no such luck. i dont know if my cars been in an accident. i dont think so cuz i havent seen any evidence but where your just looking at a car to buy, you dont tear it apart looking for creases in the unibody. just have patients, and keep an eye open, alberta has had some good ones i've seen few months back. but just have a back up ready in case cuz fd's arent the most reliable cars on the planet, i havent had too much trouble yet, but im still very new to the fd scene. anyways thats my opinon, doesnt mean much but thats just my expiriance. (im not trying to scare you away from RHD or tyee, they were good for me, but there was a romar i heard from SGI...theres so many RHDs now, transport canada is looking into making them illeagal... well at least, in the sense you cant import them over anymore. not good news for anyone who has a RHD, now i think if u have one already, they arent going to make it illeagal, just illeagal to plate one just brought over. this was a romar dont quote me, and they were "looking into it" so no desisions have been made or anything, but its just something to keep in mind. thats all) anyways good luck man. i wish you all the best in your search

 

Hey there everyone, just sayin Hi. I just bought a few months ago a white 86 13b n/a and really just had it parked most of the time, but am now going to pick up the pace and start working on it and getting things for it. I had it out a couple times, and i have met rx7 obsessed, dont know if he remembers me but i just had to pick up some basic brake pads so that i could drive it, when i bought it the rear caliper was seized right solid... anyways just letting you guys know there is another one out here in this "awesome" city.

Their good importers (experienced first hand) but I think they hired a couple green guys, cause last time I called there, they didn't know much about their cars kinda disapointing.

and to be quite frank, the "green" guys he hired are just punk kids (when i was there) who take the cars home once and again...*OH GOD...* yeah, u can imagine what a 16 year old kid is gunna do with a car that can pull 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds.... and then most likely doesnt know enough to cool down turbos before pulling the key. that scared the bejesus out of me, talking to that kid, realizing hes driving these cars (all of them) and doesnt know jack.. anyways its hit and miss, but i suppose purchasing a new car in general is hit and miss.

I think they're just doing renovations. From what I hear, a guy from the Roughriders is investing into it. Bad idea in my opinion... but hey, at least you can finally buy **** off of their wall (rider shirts, hats, and helmets, ahahahaha...). I have a friend that works there.. The guy from frontline imports is telling me that if i import a car through him it will be over $1000 less than one he has already in canada and it will be in better condition. Any thoughts?

that can be pretty costly.
++You might have to triple check your car over, cause those japs are smart.
and probably would bag the car before selling it to people that import.

DUMB AND dumb, ONCE again just tripple check everything and be prepared for LOTS to be wrong when importing.
