My build thread.

Alright, so i've had this car since last spring (april) Its an 87 TII rx7.

I've been collecting parts and doing this and that from now till then, but next week it becomes more serious. so I thought i'd put up one of these as i'd like to share my progress with ya'll and get your input.

I picked up my 87 TII for $500 not running, the guy had tried to change the injectors and couldnt get that one coolant hose on and gave up.

so heres where my journey starts.

This is the bill of sale i recieved from the man.

yeah.. i made a new one later.

so this is the car when i got it.

then i got some parts for it

stock spoiler, EBC yellow pads, brembo rotors, S5 bumper, energy suspension bushing master kit.

then it was brought to RPM motorsports in KW

ballin!

they did my exhaust there and some emissions delete for me... thanks joe!

heres a video, only mods are 700cc secondary injectors and 3" exhaust. My clutch kicked the bucket in third, if you listen you can hear my car rev out in 3rd and 4th. lol

heres me embarassing myself with stock suspension at CSCS.

after that i HAD to get some suspension... so i picked up these coilovers.

JIC Magic coilovers w/ camber plates. LOVE em.

new license plates

then i changed the clutch, put in an RP clutch and PP

So

and i've ended up with this reknown beauty!

pulling the motor from the silver rx7

then i picked up these wheels and taillights.

and got this last night

and now i shall share my plans. lol

My motor seems to be alright, pulled pretty good. so i'll be keeping that for the time being.

I am just taking it down to the keg, replacing all gross bolts, all sensors and cleaning everything up and painting it. then i'm wiring up MSnS V2 up to work with the stock engine, my roomate works at General Dynamics so he is going to assist me in fabricating my own intake manifold, i'll be making another build thread for that. going to get MS working on the stock motor with a safe tune, stock turbo with my intake get it all working safely, figure everything out. then I plan on upgrading to GT35R in the spring AFTER I get my motor built. and complete my Vmount.

I have quite a bit of experience with the MSnS because i've got it running in my drag MX-6. so I am hoping it'll be easier.

basic asthetics are as follows

Satin black paint, S5 tails modded with LED's, my enkei wheels powder coated black with orange lip, orange brake calipers, orange and black engine, orange subframes, orange sway bars and orange accents, S5 bumper, slammed so the tire is just almost tucking.

that is all. thanks for reading/looking :p

Building it to be exactly what I want. I want to try as many forms of racing as I can this year and am hoping this will do it for me and maybe turn some heads in the process...

Nice progress so far.

Why are you going with a custom intake manifold?
