Questions with fittings.

I want to redo the water lines to my turbo, or at least the outboard one, I was wondering if anybody used Twist-loc or SS braided lines for that, and what fittings they used. I looked up the size for the turbo and it is 16mm x 1.50 thread. I also was thinking about upgrading the fuel lines, and maybe the oil cooler lines if I decide to move it.

I did it on mine.

The engine side is the tricky part. I wasn't using the coolant passage on the rear iron for the throttle body so I removed the nipple and drilled and tapped the rear iron to 1/4" NPT then used a 1/4" NPT to 6AN adapter.

I blocked the coolant passages in the housings with 20mm? freeze plugs

Can you go into detail a little more about the adapters you use and type of hose?

Thank you, I wasn't sure if I should use a banjo fitting.

Thanks for all the info guys!! VERY helpful! I would be a happy camper if I were to get around 20 MPG. The car is decently quick enough for me, but what I love about it is that it handles like it's on rails.
Ray, I really appreciate that offer, and ill probably take you up on it here soon, but ill give you something in return, no doubt.
So, when you say the secondaries will open but then stop sucking, what exactly do you mean? They're vacume right? Wouldn't that mean that the secondaries would stay open until you drop vacume again? I.E. Let off the throttle/ shift?
Again, thanks a ton everyone, I'm learning a lot, enjoying it too.

I would also like to add to never use push lock fittings on oil pressure, not that you ever said you were going to.

I honestly dont see much of a gain changing the lines except for the water line at the intake manifold to keep the hot water away from the intake. Also if your oil return was broken and leaking. It would look nice though, but will set you back around 200 bucks. Of course you might not care about the cost.

Now the fuel system is a different story, especially if your making some decent power. I wouldnt mind spending a bunch of money on a nice fuel pressure regulator and redoing the fuel system with -6 lines, maybe a parallel setup, nice fuel pump, hardwired.

I would redo the fuel system first, then take the money leftover and look into lines for the turbo after. The price on quality hoses and fittings add up real quick! Yes, I own a 2nd gen and calculating the cost on things. I don't own a FD
