Look into the ob2 cat's that vibrant sells. They are a more modern catalytic converter, rated for 700 hp (piston), and clean up the emissions real well. The Bonez stuff that rx7.com sells would be on par with the ~$100 cats that Vibrant sells also.

These cats do not have the air pump connection? I have a new mazda cat sitting in the basement. Would need adapters to fit to the three inch racing beat. I have not found a local spot to buy flanges to bolt. Maybe I should have ordered them from racing beat.

They do not come with an air pump connection no. You would just need to weld it into whatever you have now.

UPDATE!
She now runs on the adaptronic E440D with custom patch harness to stock ECU!
I even drove it down the street with the stock ecu. First drive in over 5 or 6 years? Loosing track of how long. LOL

If your cat has a split air pipe and you can get over using the flanges, then just get compression fittings for the split air pipe.
they are 1/2 inch and can be bought in the plumbing section at CTC.
No welding and can be installed with a wrench.

Awesome Ian!

I really loved your car when you let me drive it forever ago.

I gotta get mine back together still, one day I will.

Thanks guys. 100% running next year. Next month is the custom air box, month after that is bottom air dam skirt for the oil cooler etc. Make cat converter to fit in the racing beat silencer area. Then clean up a few small things. THEN TUNE FOR SOME BNR STAGE 3 turbo power. LOL. Can't wait to see how it compares to my Turbonetics 60-1 turbo....

Some progress. Removed the charging harness and swapped the CAS wiring because I was not happy with the hacked cut up harness I did when I install a haltech years ago. This was painful. Also bought some HID's. Installed AEM nozzle. Test run the AEM kit and notice mounting the pump in the car I can hear the pump.

Also installed ghetto brackets to hold the IGN-1A coils. These will be tossed as I was not happy with the location of the coils. I am very limited to where I place the coils for space and the Sakebomb harness doesn't allow the coils to be separated very far. I could build some harness extension but then my sakebomb ignition wires might be short.

Uhmm. Measure 20 times buy once?

Nah. Gonna whine for another 3 years Couldn't get it to start because I put IGN-1A coils and went sequential ignition. Might have left something disconnected. LOL

FIX YOUR CAR or no rotary cruise for you. Will leave you in a northern ditch somewhere if you show up with your yuppy BMW

Almost 8km on the car this weekend. Just before that the furtherest it did was 2km to make sure no leaks and had brakes. Base adaptronic map works well. A bit lean on boost.

HAve a few pictures of the latest work on the car just to lazy to post. Paint looks awesome outside. Now to get it tuned so I can really enjoy it. Gonna have to put some KM next year in North carolina or somewhere

Did you have yours out yet?
