Update:
First, I'd like to say that I have been very impressed with the Haltech 6X. Aside from a few early issues (user error, experimentation), everything is going flawlessly.
A few times I thought to myself, 'you already have an EMS, why buy another one', but in my case it was worth the money.
While I miss the Wolf handcontroller still, the Haltech is a superior system for sure. Much easier to tune. Cold and hot starts are much easier to dial in. Add to that the far greater resolution of the Haltech, and the car is smoother than before already.
Then again, the V3 Wolf has been around forever and has been long since discontinued, so it is not really that fair of a comparison.
My only real issue, is the constant knocking in my fuel lines. Seems a lot of Haltech users with SS lines have this issue. Gonna need a PD...
Do Not Buy silicone hose from Performance Improvements. It is absolute garbage. I think the manufacturer is 'Pilot'.
I was getting compressor surge between every shift. I was wondering what was going on, so when I look under the hood, I see that my BOV line has totally imploded itself flat!!!!
Aside from this issue, the car runs pretty well. It is mega rich still (obviously, to the tune of 1/2 tank of gas per 100km), but I'm cleaning it up little by little. I think I killed my Bosch 02 sensor, it is reading a constant 4mv. Must be saturated with fuel!!!!
I am definitely making my first Ottawa Meet in 3 years, all I need now I is my Brother in BLing, the King of
!!!!!!

Good job John, can't wait to see the beast!
And since John posted his Ottawa Readieness Update here, I guess I'll do the same instead of starting a brand new thread and cluttering things up:
2,500km after Safety re-Check and Roxy is running beautifully. I lack power, and I'm guessing it's because of the old tired engine. I haven't had much time to do extremely fine tuning (fuel pressure, jets, timing), but I've been adjusting small things as I go along. Other than the lack of power (which I can still beat civics and sunfires with, not that they're hard), the car runs and handles beautifully. Temp, oil pressure, idle are all within spec. I got rid of that stupid annoying buzzer that was going off at random when it rained (it was because of corrosion on my oscillator). I even got a new set of mats
Last week I snapped an alternator belt clean in half. I don't know how it happened, since it's a belt I bought in the fall, with less than 1500km on it when it snapped. I figure it's gotta be just a faulty belt, because I've looked at every inch of area around the belts and couldn't find anything that could cause the belt to snap. I used this as an excuse to upgrade the alternator, since it was an eye-sore in my engine bay and was only really producing the minimum power to do the job. I've gotta take a sec to give props to Silverrotor who hooked me up with an AWESOME FD alt, which I installed last night. He was very sympathetic about the fact that I wanted to have it installed by the meet so he shipped it immediately and got it here within a week. Dual belt pulley, and *almost* direct bolt-in (I just needed a *different* bolt!). Obviously this doesn't yield any difference in drivability, but it looks a hell of a lot better and the readings we get on my friend's power inverter tell the story that the alt is doing an amazing job.
Upgrades since last year:
- New clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing
- Replacement catalytic converter (since the other one was plugged, rusted and holey, and I needed one to pass safety)
- E-brake cable which actually works
- Replacement of the almost the ENTIRE steering system (minus steering box) and all the front bushings.
- Removal of rat's nest, installation of a PCV valve to replace the old crappy purge valve
- Trunk lifters (not pistons, LIFTERS!)
- FD Alternator
So I'm a hell of a lot more ready for this year's meet than I was for last year's. No running around for gas cans to give the engine enough power to push through the clogged cat... No parking the car in 1st because of no e-brake. No blowing of the clutch in front of the partsource..
I am ready! And now that I'm ready... with my luck it'll snow

Much like Jon and John, I'm also making headway to being Ottawa ready
Got my fresh Redline MT-90 in the tranny, and with MUCH help from Amur_, the backseat is in (mostly), and my interior is a LOT cleaner. Plus he did some top notch soldering
I also got my new Accel wires installed as well as my new grounding wires and fuse/dist block
The car has NEVER started this easy before, but it was a bit late when I finished, so I'll post more tommorow
p.s. GO WOLF GO!!!

The EviLStink was truly evil smelling the last few days. And now we know why!
After some wideband tuning last night, we realized that at cruising on the highway, the car was running 11's AFR, and under boost it was beyond the range of the sensor.
About as rich as you can get.
After we cleaned up the cruising maps, the car did the last 70km on the highway on 1/8 tank of gas!!!!
