crank angle sensor

so i put my old CAS from my n/a 13b to the new 13bre swap...we didnt properly allign it as instructions are online...we just did it by eye allignment haha...so during dyno it was misfiring around 7000 rpms and topped at 210 when the engine setup was to make between 350-400....

are the CASs the same on both engines?

The CASs are probably the same, but they MUST be aligned properly. Fairly sure that all the CAS pinouts are the same but it is the chassis wiring that differs.

If you don't properly stab the CAS and set the base timing, you could be firing ignition almost anywhere and you'll probably blow the engine.

That sounds scary. So if you blow up this engine are you going to jump on the band wagon of rotary engines are junk? As is the CAS can provide a few degrees of slop. Hate to see what just stabing give you. But most times I've installed the CAS then checked it it was close by a few degrees. ±10°!

ya i feel pretty stupid about it haha but i guess its off by very little but im not even sure really...its in storage for another 2 weeks so i'll allign it properly before i fire it up..i just wanted to make sure they're the same in both engines so i know at least when i allign it its gd to go....the compression is still gd on it but im just scared if i wore off the seals maybe but im guessing it woulda simply blown...i have no idea why its only makin 210 and misfiring...we took the set up from a supposedly running car...that blue widebody convertible andrew had with the 300zx front....so everything should be plug and play but it just kept misfirin during dyno

its misfiring cause A) you have electrical noise or b) the cas is stabbed wrong
