Bruce County Meet 2008 July 18-20

G'day there, Brian (Bass) and myself sat down this weekend, and came up with two weekends that work best for our normally annual meet. Seeing as how we both SHOULD have fully operational cars I don’t see anything holding us back. We like to keep the days long so JULY usually works best, we are thinking the July 11-13 weekend or the July 18-20 weekend. Let us know what you think, and we are open to opinions as well.

Cheers,

Kevin

How else do you think the gene pool expands here?

It usually is an over night event so be prepared for that, we still have some things to work out, but it will be a Friday night; Saturday morning thing, or a Sat night, Sun morning thing.

Well pick one anyways, so we have an idea of how many people are coming.

I'll pick one once I know this year's wedding attendance schedule. I enjoy people getting together in holy matrimony and all but why does it have to kill half of my summer weekends every year?

Oh really... well you are more than welcome, first timers should have a good time too, the last time we ran one some said the scenery was as good as the Ottawa one, and the roads were in much better shape.

Charn, you could be "that" guy in Chesley again... You know 50% of those things never work out, and there is always 100% chance of fun in the RX7. But I spose you are just filling your Roledex for later on in your career?

by "over night event" he means we all get drunk and then somebody wakes up the next morning awkwardly spooning someone else...yeah that's right.

i say, make it as late as possible. so 18-20 or later.

We're going to be stopping at a different place for lunch this year. I'm not going to bother with setting up an e-mail for people to pre-order their lunch...that was harder than getting my students to hand in their homework on time! I will post a menu though once I choose a new restaurant. Something on the water this time I think! Maybe a patio overlooking our cars?!?!

i should mention that the one year i did go (the first year?) it was a great meet, and i have been to ALL the Ontario meets, haha.
even driving 7 hours there and back it was worth it. especially since i got free beer from Kevin. that's right, Kevin gives out free beer.
hopefully i can go again this year.

You are planning on driving your car in to Georgian Bay? I know you aren't speaking with it, but this seems excessive...

Bah, who wants to sit around in a parking lot, when you can drive the cars... Ok so I guess Neo is out hahaha.

We will see what we can do Mike, no promises; this is going to be a good one, after we deprived the people last year!!

Sounds great, food on a patio overlooking our cars, a nice drive with nice scenery, getting drunk, trying not to wake up with Kevin attached to your butt. Sounds like a fun meet to me! I'm in.

We will see what we can do, but like I said no promises; that seems to be the most free weekend for other members, so it's up to them to decide where they want to go (if we choose that date). I for one will not be attending MOTM it seems to be more of a GTA thing, being as it is of course the center of the universe and all and because anybody can stand around in a parking lot, I for one would rather drive my car.

Cheers,

Kevin

GTA sucks ***! I avoid it like the plague. Count me in on the bruce meet if I'm not commited to the FD ottawa race team.

There is no race either weekend, so for me just depends on work. Either one is fine by me.
