There’s also a dark blue imported TII that’s owned buy a guy at the beddington registry. Its not the brave blue but a solid dark blue. I swear he just got it b/c a few of the people were standing around it looking at the RHD. ill take a pic of it sometime if i remember

Haha yea, I think I saw you that day too. Also met a cool guy at the Coop that same day with a white 2nd gen NA, who was planning on swapping in some truch engine or something

1987 JDM Mazda Rx-7 Turbo Modified

17" BuddyClub P1 Wheels , Mazdaspeed Spoiler, JIC Bullet 4" Muffler and turbo back piping

13b Engine w/ TD06-25G turbo, thing eats fuel like crazy lol with the injectors.

Its been modded pretty hardcore in Japan, think I got all the gremlins worked out till next spring

hope these pics come out right! These are the ones sent to me by the seller, haven't got a chance to take my own yet.

Have you had any issues with getting registration and insurance on the reverse driver's side? I've always wanted to import a newer FD from Japan; possibly as a collector's car or something like that...

Wouldn't be really worth it IMO, especially since you couldn't drive it til it's at least 15 years old. I don't even know if you can bring it into the country if its not older than 15 years? So.. you'd have to wait til like 2008 just to bring in a '93 FD..

Then the other question is how much of a collector car would one actually be? I've never understood the fascination for all things right hand drive. To me it would be less valuable over here. As far as collectables go it should be better to get an older R1 or R2 in left hand drive. Unless of course you were looking at bringing over a special car like a Spirit R or Bathurst model. Then I could understand the collectable part.

Not sure what you are asking. A newer FD would be a 1999 and up model which under the current guidlines couldn't be brought in until 2014. Was your question a rhetorical one?

i just thought mabe felgar meant a '99+ fd since he said a collector's car. as i don't see the point of getting a rhd fd when you can get a lhd here either.

Yea basically the jyst of it is that you can't import/drive a rhd car here unless its 15 years or older. So get ready for all the 91s showing up soon heh.

Insurance doesn't seem to be a problem at all with rhd. At least as far as I know.

Frankly the rhd wasn't much of a factor in me buying it. I went totally for frame. No dmg no rust and running engine (which I might completely overhaul with my bro next summer anyways, but on the other hand it runs quite well with only 62k kms on it, so might just leave it). I never really drove stick before the tII so didn't affect my instincts anyways , fyi learning stick on a modded rx7 = hard!

Anyways there seem to be some nice 10ae's for sale in Calgary/Edmonton, saw the ad's on the other calgary forum that starts with a B. (forgot if saying other forums are against rules, but should be easy to figure out which).

damn snow is coming hope we have that meet soon.

Thumbs up

Spotted 2 Rx7's just off of 16th ave, both parked, one white FC in front and a grey FB in the back, same house... I don't want to say exactly where because that's someone's home address obviously.... the white FC looks to be in really nice condition.

Right... And that was the intention; the Spirit Type R. So there seems to be a consensus that there's no way around the 15 year lag... Which is basically what I was asking.

The alternative would be to just buy the different body panels from the Spirit and then change out a '95 or something...

Somebody is going to be scared to open it up from now on.

I donno if anyone keeps up on Initial D, but this is just like when Keisuke crashed his FD into the guard rail. Now that he has it back, its all souped up with a body kit and all.
