well, i can only see the TE and the kanji right underneath it. i dunno kanji well in japanese, but it merely translates to 'used section good' in chinese. and i can't make it out, but seems like there is a 'not' in front of it too. nothing that tells you wat kind.........at least that i can see. there are some words under the kanji that i can't make out.

Hi guys.... new here....

I'm 37..... so if you go back 20 years, you can bet what my 17 y/o dream car was.

Well I finally bought it friday.... 20 years old, and unbelievably prisitine in condition... I've seen 3 year old cars look worse inside and out.

At any rate... I drove around town for a few days until I spotted one other excellent condition 1st gen... so I have a sighting to report...

Calgary, C.O.P westbound to stoney trail.... stopped 1 lane over at a red light.... played a game of speed up, slow down with the van between us to get a good look..... It was a silver/bluish (like mine) with some decals on (behind drivers window) it that didn't do it justice imho.... but nice shape for it's age..... I got a big thumbs up when he spotted my mint '85

As I said.... new here... hi guys... hope to see calgary owners at a few meets, and learn a few pointers....was never much of a car buff, but something just infected me with that disease.

I tried messing with the picture to see if I could get the symbols any clearer, here is what I came up with.

Spotted Tues morning parked in front of the EUB on 5th Ave downtown.
VR FD Touring 5-speed
AVS 5 spoke wheels / red calipers
Black nose bra
painted R1 lip, body kit (that rocker panel scoop) and big rear wing.
Large aftermarket fart canon
and...bunches of duct tape on the lower rear bumper lip (that black thingy)

A little rough, but not too bad.

Saw a silver FB, turbocharged, with "Rising Suns" decals at a McDonalds in the Westhills area the other day, had rally style stickers on the window. Almost said hi to the owner, but then decided I was hungry =D

Also saw what looked to be a teal S4 FC turning from Shaganappi onto John Laurie a few nights ago (Sunday night), had S5 tails that's for sure, appeared to be someone of middle-eastern descent driving if I saw right? Looked fairly clean anyhow.

Haha, thats my car. =P Were you in the group of people who were staring at my car? The stickers and logos are definatly for rallying. No bling bling stickers here.

Avenging Angel: I remembered your Rising Sunds car from the mosquito infested Glenmore mini-meet. You have a turbo motor under the hood of that FB?

Hah, I wish... Im currently working on plans to put in a super charger. Right now the scoop is being used for direct air intake to my carb and for bay cooling (I'm running two lines from it). I found that it was better than putting the intake tubing underneath the car, like I've seen several people do. I like my car to be well ventilated. It also helps to push all the dust and dirt out the bottom of my car when I'm on the rally tracks. It may make me look like a wannabe but, it works for what I designed it for. =p

Excuse my spelling mistake for Suns, and since I noticed it too late, I can't edit it

The scoop is functional, so nothing wrong with that. Plus if you had a turbo, you don't want a TMIC anywyas. Pretty cool that you rally the car, I have to come out and check it out sometime. I used to go and watch a few years back, I remember there was a red FC that was out there.

Saw an decent looking silver FD over the weekend, had a bodykit and looked pretty clean except for the Tanabe sticker ont the fender. There is a stock white FD that I seem to see everywhere. I guess he lives in the NW or something, but I must have seen the thing like 10 times in the last month. Drive to work, I see it. Drive to the mall, I see it. Go to a movie, it's in the parking lot. Why must it taunt me?

Nope, it's not his, based on the driver alone. Plus this FD has a rear wing and stock rims.
