2013 Mazda Contingency Awards Program

Some more detail on Mazda Canada's Contingency Rewards. Big things that make me happy
1) everyone is automatically registered
2) no decals required
3) rewards are stackable with SRTA's separate $440/$220/$110 cash prizes for 1st/2nd/3rd place finishes in both Group A and Group B

That means if I beat both Jimmy and Ken and everyone else in Group A, I can get almost $600 in cash payouts! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! (LOL as if)

2013 Mazda Contingency Awards Program – Sigma Racing Time Attack Series

1) Mazda Contingency Awards (MCA) are available for select categories and classes of racing. Eligible vehicles must fit within 1 of these 3 categories:

a. Mazda production vehicle using stock chassis with modified or stock bodywork
b. Mazda-powered vehicle with tube-frame chassis using approved Mazda “silhouette” bodywork
c.Mazda-powered, purpose-built race vehicles (sports racing car and formula/open wheel cars) using a Mazda production powerplant

2) The following categories of vehicles are not qualified for the MCA:

a. Non-Mazda production vehicles using a Mazda powerplant
b. Mazda production vehicles using a non-Mazda powerplant

3) All qualified Mazda vehicles competing in the 2013 Sigma Racing Time Attack (SRTA) series are automatically enrolled and eligible in the MCA. No registration is required.

4) There are no minimum requirements for number of competitors in each class for the MCA.

5) The chart below summarizes the 2013 Mazda Contingency Awards program payout – Sigma Racing Time Attack series

Group A
Highest Placed Mazda $150.00
2nd Highest Placed Mazda $75.00
3rd Highest Placed Mazda $50.00

Group B
Highest Placed Mazda $150.00
2nd Highest Placed Mazda $75.00
3rd Highest Placed Mazda $50.00

6) The MCA program is a race amongst qualified Mazda competitors only. The Highest, 2nd Highest and 3rd Highest Placed Mazda awards are given out accordingly regardless of actual SRTA standings in the Class. The MCA program is also independent of SRTA’s cash payout. MCA winners can also receive SRTA cash payout.

7) Due to the wide variety of vehicle modifications at the SRTA series, Mazda Canada and SRTA withhold the rights to disqualify any vehicle from enrolling in the the MCA program at any time.

Great news. Now all I need is a car! Why did I have a crazy idea to sell my FC and buy an FD or another track car?

Thanks for the update

Freeek, thats more money than is available in CASC Stuff. The only issue I have with it is that in Sigma, they lump all modded cars together. There is no way my 200 hp car can compete with all the fire breathing FD's at Sigma.

Group A and group B both get seperate pay outs so that gives us more of a chance. I'll just have to battle against those damn rx8s and miatas... Maybe I'll get a prize just for brining a classic mazda. Lol!

Don't think so. I already have 1 fragile fast racecar in the garage. Goes like stink for about 55 minutes then grenades the box or destroys the tires or the brakes go off or something.... My RX7 is like a rented mule. I can beat on it all day, it carries the required load and always gets me home in time. Also, it is fast enough for the racing class it runs in and I enjoy the hell out of racing it.

Just a final tune, the new shocks, the new tires and we should be good to go.

The no minimum # of cars per class is funny.

Due to the super low turn out at SMP (probably because still too early in the season), only a handful of Mazda owners showed up at SRTA #1.

Although a small entry, there was still more Mazda than any other manufacturers. Also, we had just enough entries to fill the awards!

Results are up!

Congratulations to Alan and Marco!
