Made a temporary holder for my gauges.


And finally fixed the oil leak, put in a new gasket and a oil pan brace with studs,

 

Mounted some "styling" on the rear tow hook

 

Bought some different wires and accesories to clean up the engine bay, the gauge holder is for my Neon. Looking forward to getting started working on my car's, summer vacation FTW

 

Got started on tearing down, semi wiretuck and tb mod are among the stuff i plan to get done
Tmic, UIM, TB and vacumpipes are of the car.









Alot of unecessery when only 2 fuel lines and 3 vacuum lines where in use.


Anybody know what this is for? can i remove it?

 

I believe that is a check valve on the line that runs to your charcoal canister?

I don't know if you can remove it. Im sure you could i just don't have the answer.

 

assuming this is map sensor and FCD, shouldn't the vacum pipe be connected somewhere?


Anybody know what this green plug is for? the wire runs by a relay out to the headlight, but not shure where it actually end's up.

Found out i have the wrong boost/vacum sensor. Some previous owner have converted from NA to a T2 engine an just left the N327(NA boost/vacum sensor) in place, installed a FCD and blocked of the vacum pipe. So a N318 is now in the mail, hopefully that will make my car run leaner (10.4 at idle, don't know what high rpm or cruising afr's are)

made some cover plates instead of using threaded plugs like the Fc3spro how to says. This way it's possible to return the tb to stock again.

Well if i don't like it i always have the option of turning it back to stock since i made cover plates instead of threaded plugs.

 

Got my ebay intercooler piping kit today, quality seems to be ok, only thing that i can complain about is that the paintjob isn't the best i've ever seen, a bit of dust and scratches in the paint, but that can always be fixed later on, will probably scratch the paint more when i'm installing it anyway.

 

 

So i went to the track this weekend, went with a small oil leak, came home with a big oil leak and a blown turbo, only got about an hour or so out on the track, but all in all a good weekend, the three hour drive home with a blown turbo was a bit nerve wrecking tho.

So i need a new turbo, i plan to run 0.5bar until i brake the NA transmission and then turn up to 1 bar when i change in the T2 trans i have in my basement. I need something that delivers boost earlier than 5000rpm, the xspower turbo the last owner put on the car didn't deliver 0.5 before that.

My car is streetported, external wastegate and has a T4 flange, any suggestions to wich turbo i should go with?

Going to buy a used Garrett T66 AR .96 journal bearing turbo, it should perform better than my XSpower T70 AR1.05 Journal bearing turbo, atleast i hope it spools up earlier, and knowing i got a quality turbo isn't a bad thing either

 

As far as the TB mod, the only thing that affects cold starts is the thermo wax and it works even if you cap off the vac lines. You do still need to run the coolant hose to it though...

That turbo should spool better, but be warned, it will also exceed the metering capabilities of the s4 afm, maybe even before 1 bar (which is the limit of thee rtek), so tune carefully. What injectors are you running?

 

right now i have 550pri and 720sec, but plan on getting 1000cc sec and run the 720cc as pri.

 

Picked up the new turbo, a bit bigger than i first tought. Might need to go with 1600 sec and 720 pri...

how is your car running with an N327 NA Map Sensor?

 

With the help of a fuel cut defender, and running 10.4 AFR's. But once i found out i had the wrong vacuum sensor, i got myself a 318, running much stronger now, or atleast it was until i blew the turbo :P

Started figuring out how i want to mount my fmic, so i stripped the front.




Shiny Greddy elbow , ashame it makes the rest of the engine bay look like **** :/

 

Got the ic piping more or less figured out, so now i'm just waiting for some parts before i can mock everything up and make shure it will work.

Also decided to paint the turbo housing, a more subtle look
