Need Help with S4 Idiot Dash
Need Help with S4 Idiot Dash
I'm currently trying to figure out why the idiot dash cluster lights won't turn on with the ignition key in ON position.
First of all, my car is an 86 N/A FC3S which was originally sold in Europe (as that seems to make a difference).
So I basically need all of the warning lights to light up to pass the next inspection and I'm about to lose my mind. I resoldered the Idiot cluster and it works perfectly fine on its own. At the moment it seems the CPU isn't sending the singal to turn the lights on and when I measured the voltage coming from the alternator to the CPU which is switching the relay is only about 9V. Is this enough for the relay to switch on? Also the rear fog light control lamp is not turning on when manually grounded, neither is the brake control lamp. According to the wiring diagram the fog light lamp has its own positive as it should only be on if the lights are on so is it normal that it will not turn on when the lights are off, even when all the other lamps come on? And the brake control light seems to be wired directly to the ignition switch instead of the CPU so I don't understand how exactly that works.
I know, a lot of questions, but if someone could help me out with this I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance!
