Dash cluster lights stuck on
1985 GSL-SE.
I went around a corner, and all my indicator lights on my dash turned on. I thought the engine had died, but to my surprise it was still functioning normally. I drove it the rest of the way to work, and the lights sporadically came on, and off. Not a flicker - they stayed on most of the time, but would occasionally turn off for 1-2 seconds, and then turn back on.
As I said - the car starts and drives totally normally. Its just that the dash lights that normally come on when the ignition is turned on (before the car is started) don't turn off. What is the signal to indicate to the cluster gauges that the car has started, and instruct those lights to turn off?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

The choke and check relay controls this on an SA. Not sure if its still the same on an 84 or not.
If that relay doesn't see a solid charging signal from the alternator, then it lights up all the lights
like a christmas tree. So maybe the relay or connection to the alternator.
Only guessing because 84 may be different from an SA.
