Angry All warning lights come on after CPU resolder!

I resoldered the cpu connectors and now all my idiot lights come on and dont go off, but my door dinger and horn work now. I guessed that I just bridged a solder somewhere, but there arent any that I can see and Ive looked forever. I also resoldered the warning lights, but this problem didnt start until I did the cpu. Any Ideas?

If you turn the key to the On position, but the car isn't running, all the idiot lights are supposed to come on - that tells you that the alternator isn't turning, and also lets you make sure none of the bulbs are burned out on the idiot light cluster.

They should go off when you start the car.

If your CPU had bad solder joints, one symptom is that check feature not working.

ya what dale said. is the car running? or just with the key in "on". they stay on unless the car is running.

they stay on when running. Could it be that my cpu isnt getting a signal that the alternator is going? Sounds logical, should I check on that?

According to my horrible interpretation of the wiring diagrams there should be a white/black wire from the alternator that goes to the cpu for an alternator warning or something like that. Could this be the wire that tells the cpu to shut off the warning lights after the engine is started. Or am I interpreting this all wrong? Anyone know what wire tells the cpu that the engine is running and therefore shuts off all the warning lights? The white/black one reads .3dcv when ignition is on or started.

And how's your alternator doing, anyway? Putting out enough zap? It may just be that it's picked now as the time to quit/screw up. Your CPU may have nothing to do with those lights staying on...

Just a thought (it's the only one I get today so don't waste it!)
