1988 rx7 fc (9 years of sitting)
So long story short my fc sat for 9 years.....first thing i did wan pull leading plugs out and put some MMoil turned over smooth and made some hissing sounds as if it has some compression (took it as a good sign) so i put the plugs back in and let it sit for a while.then i pulled the lower radiator bleeder and the coolant looked real rusty and I removed the cap on radiator and the internal fins were rusty so I’m thinking new radiator(koyo) then that brings me to what coolant to use.so as I’m looking to buy a new radiator was thinking of getting a new thermostat along with with gasket (make sure thermostat is sitting correctly) and a new water pump.so then i was like “if this is what the radiator looks like it’s probably bad in the block” so then I’m thinking of pulling the plug from right underneath the spark plug hold and pulling the thermostat out and running the hose for some time.is this a good idea?then was going to drain oil and put a new filter and oil ,but then read about oil metering pump and thought to myself if i should block it off and pre mis...any thoughts? Also will be draining fuel and putting new filter and fuel pump and new fuel to get her ready for her first start in 9 years !not to mention it has its other handful of things that need attention but figured starting her as safe as i can is a good start let me know your thoughts on my plans if i should make any changes or something I’m missing.not to mention clutch peddle is stuck and super hard and brake and clutch res were empty .i got my hands full i know but let me know your thoughts .i will be posting every step.
Put a battery in her and everything worked but driver window.
She’s a diamond in the SUPER rough

Blocking off the omp is probably a good idea. Those lines get really old and crusty, they like to weep oil over time. Flushing the coolant is pretty necessary after siting that long. I have the koyo rad in my s4 t2, great unit with allot of cooling power. Looks like you have allot of work ahead of you but you have a great looking base to start from!

When blocking how did it work ?would i plug the lines when i put the plate on?am going to get the rad who did you buy from ,i was thinking Mazda trix because I’m going to need a gang of things to get her started.as far as coolant what’s best option as far as brand and mix ratios.i was thinking 5050 Prestone.
