I'm doing the 12a to TII swap. I need help on a few things. What parts do I need to get to do this. I know I have to get the gsl-se oil pan and i got the intercooler setup. Do i need to do anything with the fuel system since I'm going from carburetor to fuel injectors? Do i need to get an oil cooler? Please help.

first, search is ur friend.

off the top of my head so this is incomplete most likely:
-use ur 12a front cover or a GSL-SE front cover (depends on the TII OMP as i'm not familiar w/ it)
-u have the GSL-SE oil pan, need associated oil pickup as well
-GSL-SE front engine mount or the one from racing beat (or i think u can modify the 12a one)

that should get the motor in the engine bay correctly.

u'll want to upgrade ur fuel system as well which would include at least:
-fuel pump
-fuel lines (supply and return)
-fpr?
-fuel filter
-will probably want the GSL-SE fuel tank

then u need to figure out which tranny to use as ur stock one will probably not hold the power (TII would be the best choice):
-TII tranny
-TII clutch slave
-TII clutch
-custom driveshaft

yes, u'll want an oil cooler. no rotary engine i know runs without one. get a front mount one out of a 1st or 2nd gen and figure out how to mount it. that's all i have, i'm sure others will chime in...or like i said, u can research...there are plenty of posts on this topic.

Would an 86 gas tank fit? I couldn't find any gsl-se gas tanks.

No. If you can't find an SE tank then do what I did and weld the EFI fuel pump setup from the FC into the FB tank.

Ok perfect. What did you do to your driveshaft? I didn't see anything in your link.

So i may or may not have gotten the TII? This is what the description on the engine i have. Mazda JDM 13B-T Turbo S4 Engine Swap 1986 - 1988.

Go to Mazdatrix's website and order a custom first gen drive shaft with a TII front yoke instead of the FB front yoke. It's the cheapest, fastest and easiest route.

Yep, that's the turbo engine - the S4 13bt.

Couldn't I just get the TII yoke?

No. The u-joints on the shaft are non-removable or replaceable. A shop could cut off the front half of the TII shaft with the yoke still attached and weld it onto the rear half with the rear flange still attached of the FB shaft. But I talked to the drive shaft shop I went to and they said that's not safe and wouldn't balance out well.

A TII yoke to FB rear flange custom one-piece shaft purchase is necessary.

Or just use a swirl pot - thats what I did as my tank was good.

It's not on the website, that's why you won't find it.

You are correct.

You need to call them (don't email, call - it's faster, more personal and more efficient) and tell them that you're going to be doing a TII transmission swap into an FB chassis and that you need a custom FB driveshaft with the TII front yoke. Stock length, same rear flange, all the same as the FB except for the TII front yoke.

What should the compression be at by just the motor turning from the starter?
