I'm thinking of going to the same Bonez exhaust setup (need to keep emissions, but want better performance).

Would you be willing to answer some questions about your's?

I haven't picked up an exhaust yet. I will most likely be getting it the end of next month.

I'd love to see pics when you get it (outside of the car and mounted). Are you planning on using the stock header?

Nice pics Chris, looking good. Shoot, if you already have the RB muffler, you're 1/3 the way there to a total RB system.

Just a thought. An RB header kind of changes everything.

I painted it and cleaned the tips and it looks great.

The main reason for me wanting to go with the bonez exhaust system is the stock look under the hood. I didn't really want the look of a header with every other thing there looking stock and restored. We don't have to worry about emissions here. I figure I should still have the good RB sound since I'm running the RB muffler.

It's a little dirty right now.
That muffler is rare as hell, i have the same one in my car and all the oldschoolers always want to trade me.

I picked up the muffler in 2001 (I think) from a guy who bought it new in the mid '90s. This is the second car I've had it on and I traded it than traded it back.

actually if you want more power, but a stock appearance, find an FC exhaust manifold, its basically the same except the outlet is 60mm instead of 45mm.

car looks great BTW!

Thanks.

If I did go with the FC exhaust manifold, I assume I'd have to have a custom pipe made? Is that true?

i think you could use the FC precats, if you can find em, or yes it would be a custom pipe.

My only addition since I last posted is an IMSA/GTU sticker I picked up off ebay.

Also I was digging through some boxes in the garage and found this:

I've had it since it was new in 1989. Micro Machines.

Looking good Chris, I'm still waiting for my sticker to come in for my white 85 GSL. I think they sent it on a boat, it's been two weeks.

Definitely a must have for any FB.

also ordered Hawk HPS pads for the front.

Total cost of about $700.

All the steering parts are Moog.

My parts started to roll in yesterday and it looks like the last of the parts will be in on the 4th. I have to return the front brake hardware kit because the parts in the box are wrong but I'm going to wait till I get everything else first.

Very nice FB. It seems like it's not very hard to get one of these restored.

Thanks. I wish it wasn't all that hard. It takes just as much to restore one of these as any other car if you want to do it right.

correction, the FC manifold is 50mm ID on the outlet. that makes the FB? 40?

I think I'm just going to stick with the factory SE mani, it makes things easier. I don't really have a need for power upgrades on this car.

I picked up a set of period Bosch Touring driving lights with covers. This should be a great addition to the car. They didn't come with any of the wiring so I will have to work that out. I'm trying to find a switch that will fit in the blank plate location next to the power mirror switch. I'd like to find one that appears stock.

that will be cool. i'd look at an 83-87 626, they have the same size switches. or maybe you could mod a cruise control switch to work?
