I went through the local pull and save yesterday to look for a fog light switch. I looked at almost every car they had there. I found that the 87-96 jeep cherokee has a switch that fits perfectly. It doesn't have the fog light emblem on it and the style is a little different but it will work good. The lights will be here on Monday.

I replaced my battery tray yesterday. I finally have one that isn't rusted out.

I had seen what looked like a radar detector under the front of my car when I started working on it. I finally got around to pulling it and found out it is part of and Autobahn Covert radar detector from 1984. I'm missing the part that goes under the dash. I wish i still had it, it would be cool to get it working. I found an ad for the detector on the internet. I can post it if someone wants to see.

I wouldn't mind seeing that old piece of 80s tech.

I could post a pic of the box the does in the front of the car but it really only looks like a plastic box with wires coming out of it.

I picked up a fog light wiring kit over the weekend so I will be able to get them installed soon. I will be starting on the brakes and steering on Friday.

I actually went to Fruita Monument and Mesa. I moved to Colorado Springs back in '06. I drove a flat black '83 RX-7 and my '64 galaxie in college over there in the late 90's early 2000's. My parents still live outside of Fruita and I drove my car over there over the summer.

The first gen RX-7 was the most winning car in IMSA history. It won 111 times and the runner up was the Porsche 911 with 69. The FB dominated the GTO class and even won in the GTU class.

I can't remember if it is a W-31 but I remember that it was a very clean car. I may have a good pic of it.

I've got a foglight switch in the SE and no fog lights (I think its OEM). Would you like mine?

I made really good progress on the installs but it took longer than I planned. Old cars are a pain to work on sometimes. I finished the bearings and brakes all the way around.

I now have new outer bearing for the rear and new inner and outer bearings for the front. I also have seals front and rear and Royal Purple oil in rear. The brake rotors are replaced both front and rear as well as new wheel studs for the front rotors. The pads and hardware are new all the way around and the front are Hawk HPS pads. Stainless steel brake lines and speed bleeders are now installed all the way around. The ball joints are replaced as well and I would say that was probably the hardest part of the project.

I still have to replace the tie rod ends, pitman arm, and idler arm. The OMP still needs to be rebuilt as well. I plan to get this done this Friday. When I get this all done I plan to rebleed the brakes one more time.

The steering is done. I had a hard time getting the old pitman arm off. I tried heat, a hammer, puller, ext. on Friday. I almost broke my puller. I ended up letting it sit over night with PB Blaster on it. Saturday morning I put the puller in it and it popped right off.I finished the car around noon on saturday. I didn't get the OMP done because the wind was crazy all weekend. It hit 70+ MPH and I desided to not do the OMP when the wind was making the car sway on the jack stands.

I took the car to goodyear to have it aligned. They did a fairly good job. I'm going to have to take it back because it is pulling slightly to the left. Overall I'm very happy with the car. The steering is tight, the brakes are working great, and no more vibration or bearing noise.

I'll get some pics of the installed parts on Friday. I figured with the wind, I shouldn't push my luck.

it does feel like a new car. No more vibration or noise. The steering feels real tight. I plan to do the bushings at some point but they look fairly well so not for a while.

Next on my list is the cat and throwout bearing. I'm not going to have the time to do that till the beginning of next year. I have a bunch of house projects to work on.
