My parts list is growing.

I still need to do the tranny mount and drive shaft. I'm going to hold off on the motor mounts.

I have a Racing Beat muffler to put on the car. It used to be mine and it has come back around to me. I also ordered most of the parts I need to finish the motor.

I still need to have the injectors cleaned. Rebuild the OMP (I already have the kit from pineapple racing). I need to order the Atkins Six Port Actuator Valve Kit, K&N air filter, and one coolant line to be able to finish all the critical things on the motor. In the coming months, I'd like to get NGK Power Cable ignition wires and Bönez Street Exhaust mid pipe to finish the motor.

I have a bunch or parts ordered. I have everything I need to basically finish the motor ordered or will be ordered this week.

K&N filter, spark plug wires, battery hold down, coolant line, air control valve gasket, air control check valve, muffler gasket, thermostat gasket, A/C belt and fuel filter. I still need to send the injectors to witchhunter and order the Atkins Six Port Actuator Valve Kit.

I also picked up a ash tray over the weekend with a perfect finish on it.

K&N filter, spark plug wires, battery hold down, coolant line, air control valve gasket, air control check valve, muffler gasket, thermostat gasket, A/C belt, fuel filter, and the Atkins Six Port Actuator Valve Kit all came in. The injectors are at Witchhunter now and hopefully they can turn them around and I get them back by Friday. I'm very impressed with the Atkins Six Port Actuator Valve Kit, they are very nice looking pieces.

I also have the underhood decals on there way thanks to j9fd3s. Thanks to Boss Man, I have a steering wheel, center console pad, and interior vent on there way.

Last friday I fixed the buzzer. The info is in my other thread: https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-general-discussion-207/restoration-questions-942384/

Good to see your making some nice progress on the car, the car cleaned up pretty well.

Have you looked at trying to pop that dent out on the rear? I'm not sure if yor comfortable messing with it but some times when you have a dent like that you can attempt to push them back out from the inside with out doing any damage, as long as ther are no hard crease line you might have some good luck with it. You may even be able to just use your hand.

I haven't tried to pop out the dent in the rear yet. I was able to get my hand back there and feel the dent. There aren't any hard creass line in it. I thought about trying to use my hands to pop it out. I also have a hamer and dolly set but I don't have all that much experience with it and I didn't want to stretch the metal.

I got all the stuff on the motor done over the weekend. The K&N filter, spark plug wires, battery hold down, intake gaskets, air control valve gasket, air control check valve, fuel filters, thermostat, fuel injectors, and the Atkins Six Port Actuator Valve Kit were all replaced. I also replaced most of the vacuum lines. The Racing Beat muffler I had went on as well. Removing the old muffler was about the hardest part of the weekend. I'll get some pics later.

Hey Chris, what did you do about the pickup screen in the gas tank? You said Mazda discontinued it. I need to get my tank done and not sure what to use as replacement.

I ended up buying a 1/2" in/out carb filter from napa. I installed it between the tank and pump. Since it is installed before the pump, there is no worry about the pressure.

I finally got my idle perfect. No more surging or idle drop. I cleaned and tested the BAC system with no luck.

thanks to Peritrochoid it is now fixed. It turned out to be Problem #8. I adjusted the throttle stop screw and the problem was fixed. My guess is guy who owned the car before me adjusted everything when he couldn't get the car to run.

Thanks, I plan to continuing bringing this car back to factory fresh condition. I hope to get it painted later in the year but we will see how the budget is.

I swapped out the tranny mount, drive shaft, and speedometer cable over the weekend.

The weekend before I replaced the hatch struts. I wired the passenger one up for the rear wiper. I even picked up shrink wrap tubing so it would look as close to factory as possible. I'll get some pics of it soon.

I bought new strong arm struts since mine were shot and wouldn't lift the hatch. I took the factory passenger side strut apart so I could remove the wiring for the rear wiper. I than installed it all on the new strong arm strut and even shrink wrapped the wiring to the tube like the original so I could maintain as close to a factory look at possible.

ztfdrake61, the strut (shock) looks as it does because it has the electrical connections for the rear window wiper motor.

I'm hoping to get most of the rest of the parts I've been wanting in the next week. I plan to get my interior basically finished. The only thing I'll be waiting on is the seat repair which will cost $150 to fix.

I will also be ordering new motor mounts, lower shifter boot, and fan belts. I'll be waiting on the battery cables and fusible links.

Beyond that I have the steering components and the high flow cat. I should be able to get all the little bits and pieces with the sale of rest of the little parts. The motor sale will be going to the paint and body.

Once everything listed above is finished, I'll be getting the suspension mods.

I have a ton of parts ordered:
Headliner Rear Clips - 4
Switch Panel Brown (around p/w switches and balancer)
Shifter Cover Panel and Boot Brown
Inside Door Pull Cup Left Brown
Inside Door Pull Cup Right Brown
Door Lock Trim Brown - 2
Brake/Clutch Pedal Pad - 2
Engine Mount Left
Engine Mount Right
Negative Battery Cable
Positive Battery Cable
Fusible Link - Brown - 3
Fusible Link - Black
Fusible Link - Green
Belt - Alternator
Belt - Air Pump
Inner Transmission Boot
Oil Metering Copper 5-Hole
Oil Metering Copper Outer @ Pump to Line - 4
Oil Injector Sealing Washer - 8

I should be getting these in a couple of weeks. This list will keep me busy for quite a while. Total cost $366. I need to spend about $300 more to do the steering and ball joints plus alignment to get this car in tip top shape. Beyond that it's High flow cat and paint and body. Suspension mods will come much later in the future.

The parts will be here today. I'll get some pics later.

I Shampooed the carpets and floor mats on Sunday so I don't have to worry about oil saturated carpets any more. I also picked up RIT dark brown dye to redye the carpets and floor mats. I plan to start with the floor mats and see how they come out.

inconspicuous? what's that?

I'm so happy I finally got the carpets cleaned. They were so bad that when I left a piece of paper on the carpet, it was brown after one day. I tried cleaning it once before but this time I used a rental carpet cleaner instead of the small hand held one we have.
