Thanks Mike, cant wait to see you making progress on yours.

Bit of an update today, pulled the engine/trans out of the car and cleaned the engine bay, if you look at my older pics you'll see how dirty it was. I think it turned out pretty good.

Hey thanks! just checked out your build thread and will continue to watch to see where it goes, im going to tear down that 12a i just pulled, if the irons are good ill give them to you if your interested.

Another update i forgot to mention, I ordered Goopy 2mm apex seals, it took alot of reading on the forum to decide what seals i wanted but goopys seem to be pretty good for a good price. Just got to order an O-ring kit and a few other gaskets and i can put the engine back together.

That bay is so clean, going to look good with the BT in there soon. Thanks for the help Matt, got all but the rear iron put together this weekend and a trip to Eugene with the family. Busy. Looks like you made good progress as well. Took some pics with my son's camera. Ready to start my thread now. I'll be in PDX this Saturday, have some time in the AM, would like to stop by and see the new garage.

Well engine is assembled......

clean up the stock ports, left the port shape unchanged, just smoothed the runners and the bowl.

no i didnt port my first motor, with a turbo it seems you dont really have to port unless aiming really big (which im not) so why get worse MPG's and worse drivability.

On a plus note, ive decided that i might just break this engine in on the dyno at work, i like a rough break in. lol

Yeah I'd say that bar is big enough lol. Trying to make room for the v-mount and oil cooler etc or what?

yeah making room so i can do it at the angle i want to and can have more room for fans/ducting. im going to do dual oil coolers, one on each side so i wont be squeezing the stock into this vmount.

Looks good. Definitely stronger than stock. That round tube is incredibly thin...

Good idea bending the tow hooks in a bit. I should copy you. I had to get my Red FB towed (with the IMSA air dam) and there was no way to get a tow hook on them... lol fail

Im always up to something, i guess i feel like taking less pictures this time haha.

I started recovering my headliner and other fabric interior panels, should finish most of them tonight. Got lots of little odd and ends done and have been putting in lots of OT at work so late night motivation has been down. Im putting in an order with atkins today to get the couple gasket/seals i need to install the engine, but im really debating painting the whole car because i have it stripped down so far right now.

Yeah man if paint is on the list of things to do, and you have the resources to do it, now would be the time.

Paint is on my list, but honestly I have no idea when i'll get it done. Engine bay needs it, billion door dings and dents all over, holes from a spoiler ala PO, etc.

I'm also contemplating IMSA kit, which would cover up the worst dents and holes, plus would be much less to paint than the whole car.

Ahhhh first world problems. *sigh*

Yeah, i would just paint it myself in my garage if i was going to, we shall see, i should wait til im done working on it so i dont mess up the paint during the swap.
