lmao, i like how this has turned into the concours judging thread.... (i did notice on my SA, all the hose clamps were placed in a certain way, so they were easiest to get at)

interesting... car mags are pretty valid, i mean those were new cars.
i think about half of the 1st gens ive had didnt even have the battery hold down when i got em, so the little wire holder is kinda rare

yeah, the hold downs are always missing. i'm actually short one for my 85 S. i never knew the clip that holds the positive cable evenexisted until a few weeks ago. so, i looked up the part number and ordered it and many others for the GS. i know the car will never be a show car or ever be judged on a concours restoration but i like the car to be period correct.

i dont even want to add up what i have spent at teh dealer on this car. i have a whole toolbox drawer dedicated to restoration receipts of my current restoration project..this one is overflowing...perhaps i'll post a pic, lol. i've spend a couple grand there on this car im sure..it drives my wife crazy. the parts guy says i will buy more per month than most of his commercial accounts..its like an addiction.. i just cant stop..i'm drunk on oem parts

i invited him and his mrs. to my 4th of july picnic and they actually came, lol!! he's a nice guy. he really tries hard to earn a customer's business. i appreciate the discounts he gives me and he's one of the big reasons that i can buy the oem parts and still not have to dig in the couch cushions to pay my bills...although sometimes it feels like need to, lol.

More reliable than the wiring diagrams, that's for sure - - at least, this is true on the SA's. My '80 wiring diagram has multiple errors and omissions; missing connectors, missing parts, some wire color errors... most glaring is that the ignitor box is completely missing from the locator diagram, and some of its key connectors don't appear on the schematic.
