The 80 is his favorite car that I have. He's always asking me to start it and go for rides. I showed him how to properly start it just before I took the pictures. He was very happy to be in the driver's seat!

I was finally able to take the car for a ride at night to follow up at how well the new lights work. I took the car for a quick ride and wanted to share how much better the led lights are than the original lights.

Thank you! The lights are indeed bright and make driving at night much safer. The lights still need to be adjusted to the perfect angle but are still really good for being misadjusted!

Recently I spent some time cleaning and dying a spare carpet set I had from a GSL-SE that I had parted out years and years ago. It was just for fun initially but when I saw how it came out I decided to install it in this car. I got all of the carpet in last night and today I'm going to finish reassembling the interior. I have to dye the carpet on the two small dash finishing pieces and the door panels and it will all match nicely. I'll post pictures of the newly installed carpet this afternoon. It was too dark for pictures last night.

I finally had a day off yesterday and my son and I took the 7 for a drive. A perfect opportunity to grab a picture of the freshly dyed carpet!

On Sunday, my youngest so helped me bleed the brakes after I installed new braided stainless brake hoses. Pedal feels a lot better now and the car stops nicely.

My oldest son and I took the car out driving through town and the back roads for an hour and a half yesterday evening. It was a lot of fun and a woman in her 60's yelled from her golf cart "I love your car" as she waved and gave me the thumbs up. I politely thanked her with a wave back as she passed by. First time that's happened in quite some time.

Contrary to that, I stopped to visit my daughter at work and pick up a frosty and my daughter, whom loves the RX-7 bragged that the car was in the parking lot and showed her boss and a few coworkers. They were all less than impressed. It's a generational gap I assume. That or the car's paint is looking a lot less than beautiful these days so that likely played part in their feelings about the car. at any rate, i took just a couple of generic pics of the carto share. It's been quite some time since the car has been out on the road and it was nice to be able to drive it again!

Most of the real enthusiastic interactions I get are young guys, 20's, who absolutely love rotaries. I finally got mine out of Winter storage (my garage was full here) and straight to the MA inspection station. A nice lady, probably 60's, totally got it, "lovely car" she said .

Side note: They don't even test the exhaust here and haven't for years. Front bearings/bball joints, headlights, horn, blinkers, reverse lights, etc. No visual inspection for cats either from what I could tell.

Keep having fun!
