as in 240sx! fronts pretty much a bolt in affair, just gotta spin the oil pan around and make new holes!(couple other little things obviously)
and the rear wellllllll thats another story
forgot to add this in ,but this is another PRO-TIP for using a Holley along with the POWERBLAST PLATES
heres a link to what i used, eliminates fuel slosh in the bowls
i believe you will need 2 kits one for each fuel bowl
also take note THESE WILL ONLY WORK ON 4150, 4160, 4500 carbs. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aed-5896
skipping thru a bit i had been broke as hell with the house and whatever life threw at me.
OCT 31 2021 SPOOKY DRIFT EVENT @MUSSELMAN HONDA CIRCUIT TUSCON, AZ
i was very excited for this event being that it was my first time back at musselman with the 4.77 gears!
had big plans to drive with all the homies but sadly they were cut short due to 3rd gear taking a long needed vacation
any who, was still a good time! really forced me to push the car and 4th gear entries were veryyy fun!
heres just a short vid showing 2-4-2 shifting initiation

The last SX I remember seeing in person had the badge #'s on the back changed to "420 SEX". That was 25 years ago in my 1st FB, and I still laugh when I remember it.

LOL ive seen that thread and at first that seemed like to much work, but now its seeming like a decent idea to just go cut the rear out of a 240sx
DEC 2021
FC Trans in = MORE DRIVING
i paid for this event in like feb of 2020? but it got pushed back a year and a half due to covid

FEB 2022 tuscon az musselman honda circuit SHOWDOWN 4 BAYBEE
this has been may favorite event every year and having missed last years showdown due to buying the house i could not WAIT to be back for showdown
working trans: check
4.77 gears: check..ish
couple runs in just getting warmed up..... rear end starts to sound like a dogbox.. friggin over it
anyways pushed thru it just trying to make every run count
on top of it the carb was giving me someflooding issues. being to flustered and just wanting to drive, i just tried to drive around it (stupid me, ended up being the primary needle & seat)
still a good time as always couldnt really drive with people due to the car unexpectedly so i mainly just drove on my own with a few exceptions
courtesy of jim @jimlaveryphoto rare photos of me not flying off track the goodest boy was very tired after the weekend thanks matt for catching me trying to be a rally car @toughluck.media coutesy of cesar @one_czr
anyways the car survived, rear end sounds terrrible, and its sat in the garage since....
so the car now needs a rear end, or atleast gone thru, but i really want more out of the car.
the prices for parts on these cars has gotten to expense and i feel like the car is holding me back when it comes to drifting. i feel like ive done pretty well in the car but im not ready to switch chassis yet
the plan is in the next coming months (if my truck stops emptying my wallet) is to swap front and rear subframes from a 240sx into the car. the front will be fairly simple, but the rear will be very tricky
this will allow A LOT more adjustability, along with a lot more aftermarket support
after that will be the refresh of the exterior trying to clean/ freshen things up while giving it a new look
and while it sits i stole the carb to move the jeep for the first time

You could also switch to a 3 link setup instead of the OE 4 link. Chelsea D is using a live axle with a 4 link in his Mustang. Easier to accomplish than a rear subframe swap.

Agree the the OE 4 link is pretty bad and allot worse in a car lowered as much as yours.
I'm not a drifter so I am not sure what you want the rear suspension to do. In road racing the value that a three link brings to the table is forward bite on corner exit and no inherit issues during corner entry/mid corner. All of this assumes that the mounting points for all of the trailing arms have been located to deal with a lower ride height.
All of that said, a solid rear axle that was stronger than the OE Mazda unit would be nice.

ive looked into it and thought about toyota rear axles just for the availability and an equal length 4 link seem so be really popular with the 86 guys
but the want for something more modern without leaving this chassis behind is what im going for.
i have a lot of time to decide, kinda taking a break from it and trying to make the jeep reliable enough to go enjoy before i get back to the rx7
was the hydro e-brake install pretty easy? what components did you use
It wasnt to bad I had help with it from a friend, pretty generic inline hydro setup just apply any write up, or howto video you can find!
i used wilwood pn: 260-6087 wilwood compact remote aluminum master cylinder 5/8" bore.
i order mine from a seller on ebay usually about 50$
cars been sitting since october when i got the new car(we'll get to that), saw a post in april for an event at radford racing school and being it was the first and possibly only time we'd ever get invited to drift on this track, i couldnt pass it up.
Hadnt touched the car for 7-8 months, put a new battery in, fired right up.
Loaded up and away we went.
Probably shouldve rebuilt the carb, but somehow the car drove perfect minus the first lap it was sputtering in 2nd. Guess it just needed a good ol italian tune up, cause it ran flawlessly the rest of the night.
Still havent touched the rear end, but it is getting fixed for an upcoming event in oregon this august.
made a quick video for the youtubes, didnt have much footage to work with but here ya go
Being born in oregon its always been my goal to make it up there for event.
panicmade is holding an event this august for all of its customers, and just so happens all my drift friends are panic customers. took this as an opportunity to finally buy the axles and rebuild the rear end in the car so that id be eligible to drive.
come out and say hi! rear end out! oh yea and heres that new car... no need for subframe swapping the fb panic made axles!!!!
