Opinions about drifting a 1st gen?

I really like RX7's and want one badly but everyone keeps telling me that I should get a 240sx. Everyone has a 240sx around here to drift and I want to be original with drifting. What are your guy's opinions?

[Opinion] Drifting is a waste of perfectly good tire rubber in an attempt to demonstrate poor traction characteristics while lowering overall vehicle performance. With occasional meetings with walls, curbs, and tire piles/haybales/corner workers thrown in for fun. [/opinion]

Hey, you asked.

FB make great drift cars. it will not take any more work to make great drift car out of a fb as it would a 240sx. Go for the FB. http://youtu.be/JhUNM-mTU9E

drifting in an open parking lot at times can be fun.

That's what i've been thinking. I may just get one to Daily Drive/Project car. Get a FC to drift because I dont want to get away from Rotarys.

screw destroying an FC as well as an FB. get a 240SX and drift that. don't destroy a perfectly good 7. they are solid axle cars and are not great machines for drifting. start with a better platform for the sport and save a bunch of money.

Not into drifting (or NASCAR or German fetish videos), but I can understand that some people are into different things than I am.

If you want to drift, why not drift an FB? Where you have to be careful is budget. What is your budget and what are your power needs. ANY RX-7 can get very expensive very fast when you start adding hp.

UNLIKE the s13/s14 crap the FB actually drifts really well almost stock. i let Alex Pfeiffer drive mine back in the day.... it even would do figure 8's.

although the only reason drifting an FB is original is because all the FB drifting (and motorsports in general) aren't on youtube....

Alex pfeiffer seems like a cool guy i remember seeing him on the early us drifting videos.

240sx in us spec are not powerful. My fb drifts amazing stock. it will just as much work if not more to get a 240sx drift ready as it would a fb.

ae86's are solid axle and they are one of the most popular drift cars there is.
