This spring I ordered up a rebuild kit from atkins and a rebuild video from Mazdatrix and began to tear down my old motor... It was trashed. This is the rotary stand adapter my dad and i made saved me a few bucks and worked perfectly!

then the rebuild with RA super seals and atkins gasket kit... i know these parts may not be 100% but it is my first rebuild and i used the best perts of three motors i had...
Also i matched the intake ports on the center plate and one housing... go easy on me here i know they are not perfect...

i have to do a clutch and flywheel soon. do you have any pointers you can give me? i have never done a clutch before but hear its pretty easy. the only variable is the flywheel portion. i have an alunimum flywheel with a counter weight to put in and i dont know what to expect. any help would be great!

I would reccomend putting locktite on the bolts that hold the flywheel to the counter. just make sure everything is very clean and no dirt or grease is on the parts. Also make sure you use a clutch alignment tool. its a little plastic splined tool that looks like the trans input shaft. get everything lined up good before you start tightening down your pressure plate. also make sure your change your pilot bearing and deal while you are in there. I'll get some pics up when i have time sorry

the previously pictured one is a centerforce dual friction. It worked great for the 12a NA power even with the racing carb and full exhaust with many many 6000 rpm clutch dumps. however the first couple times i took it out with the turbo i just smoked the crap out of the clutch.
Im getting the ACT clutch non pucked from turblown 380 ft lb rating...

here is the engine back together. I set my end play it was at 3.3 thousandths with the original end play spacer.... so i used o different one i had laying around that was the next smaller size according to the factory repair manual. second time it was perfect 2.5 thousandths. Mazda recommends 1.7 to 2.8 i believe. mazdatrix recommends 1.5-2.7 for a tighter racing tolerance... do not quote me on these numbers. i do however remember that my engine is within spec of both.
here is a close up of my turbo oil return fitting that i tapped into my front cover. also the oil metering pump shaft and gear were removed and blocked off

Got my trans blasted primed and painted... changed front input seal. waiting for my rear seal to come in. going to have to fabricate a rear trans mount and also get T2 slave... already got a t2 starter. might have to do a little wiring to get the reverse lights to work correctly... maybe just have to change switch from old trans to new. also need to get some new bell housing bolts... probably just going to get them from ACE hardware.
