Hopefully they will come out with a better design

As for the controller, i mounted mine on the passenger trans tunnel using the hook side of some velcro tape

Thanks Tom. Are you still pleased with the system?
I am excited to get things moving!

Yes, both the SB tank and the AEM AI. I was using the windshield washer tank, but it would run dry during a session. Not good. The SB tank lasts a good 3 sessions. I have not yet logged AITs to know how well the AEM system works, but it does go through some fluid so i assume it's doing what it's designed to.

Got bored so I painted the windshield cowl, replaced some screw covers, ran speaker wires for the amps, and mounted the rear speakers.

Cowl looks good. Did you have to take the rear 1/4's off to mess with the speakers? I need to get in there, but haven't remembered how to.

Yes, but no biggie. Kick trim piece, rubber surround, One screw, 3 plastic fasteners, then I put gloves on and stuck my hand behind for popping all the metal fastens (around 7 of them). I can add a pic of inside of you want so you can see where all the fasteners are.

Got a Koyo Nflo and some new mishimoto hoses yesterday. Getting ready to drop some cash on the "sp" new twins and will be going with a new crated motor and harness.
Unless I can find someone in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami really quick Kilo racing will take on the swap. I will get a base map from Ari for the PFC to run the the Bosch 2200s and hopefully be g2g. After break in I will drive it back to Orlando for a tune final tune.
I will probably try and rebuild the old motor and turbos.

Interested in how those SP turbos will do in comparison to the new BNRs. What power levels are you looking for? Your upgrades are kind of the same route I would like to take.
Matt

I am looking for 325-350 to the wheels. I may push her a bit more, but I am trying to stay somewhat conservative. I think it will be plenty fast. I will keep posting as I progress. Really there is no other mods except I will be doing a vented hood and probably ducting. I have to control the heat down here in south fl. I will be swapping to the 4.44 gear which with my wheel/tire diameter should put me back around the stock 4.10.

Hmm those don't appear to be the SP turbos, looks like the new 3KAI's.

well, I don't think there is a true "sp" version out right now..... not from Hitachi anyway. These are the few mm bigger giving the "12%" more flow. Should be a decent upgrade from the regular 99 spec..... and yes you can ckearlybsee the 3KAI

Not to take this down the rabbit hole, but which are KAI and SP? Are the SP the ones that the "doctor" username upgrades further from the KAI?

The break on the apex is kind of odd. I am not there to see it in person and by no means am a pro or even a novice, but I see or saw no signs of detonation, but I am pretty damn sure that's what I heard and what happened.
I bought the car with supposedly 3500 miles on the Pettit rebuild and put about 2k miles on it. I only bought the car because it was had a 3500 mile Pettit rebuild on it lol. We live and learn I guess. Again, I am not a pro, but that is one ratty *** looking 5k rebuilt motor.....

edit..... the apex seal shown was mostly intact. I was told it was cracked, but still attached and the corner chipped off causing the other chaos. Those are supposed to be Mazda factory seals.

Are you 100% sure that it is a pettit rebuild? That engine has way more than 5k miles.

Well, I bought the car from Pettit and that's what I was told by Pettit and the man at Pettit himself.... I have no ulterior motive in showing it. I am just G@DDAMN TIRED OF GETTING SCREWED.

I ordered a new motor and harness should be at Kilo on Friday unless the covid gets in the way.
