I was not familiar with the FC tweak program so things for bringing that up.
What covers are you getting for your seats?
Which HFC did you go with? I added a vibrant in my racing beat exhaust and not in the mid pipe because I didn’t want to get rid of my large resonator. I have not installed it yet as I’ll need a retune and haven’t had any time.
so far FC Tweak is awesome. I can keep you posted how the auto tune works if you want. Xavier is an awesome resource and extremely knowledgeable. Tell him Terry sent you over if you want.
The cat is made was made by RX7.com. Not exactly sure. Ari just told me it will flow a bit better than their usual Bonez. Definitely has the nice high quality flanges. It will definitely flow better than the Pettit I am sure as I am pretty sure the Reg Bonez does.
Seat covers from RX7.com. I just trust Ari so figured he would not steer me wrong on those either.
The seat covers from Ari are good. I think he has the only tan ones that actually match the original tan the cars came with.
I have also used covers from Ridies and they were a good quality product as well.
+1 on FC Tweak. I have spoken with that guy a few times and that program is a labor of love. I haven't used the auto tune yet since I haven't installed my wideband kit yet, but the other features work very well.
Quick update. Tuning is 90% complete. I will finish it up today. All cruise afr are in the high 13 mid 14s and boost is damn close to perfect step downs into the low 11s and high 10s.
I may work on the timing eventually as I know I have a lot more power being held back, but I can't complain. I am at 14psi and I would estimate 350-360 to the wheels. Just an estimate of course. Sounds about right with the afr I am running and these turbos are suppose to produce around 20 more hp than "stock". I am still working on the transition as it is still a bit abrupt. I was at 14-10- 14. Now I am like 14-11.5-14. I would love to get it to 14-13-14. Traction has become an issue!
Speaking of traction,
All rear bushings have been replaced. Super pro in appropriate spots including diff and Factory Mazda on the end of lower control arm. All 6 pillow ball with J-auto, and J-Auto "launch kit installed.
No noise what so ever. Very quiet. All is tight, and I am very curious how the Fortune coilovers will be. Edgar at Mazda pros did all the dirty work. Very talented guy. Wasn't cheap, but I prefer a little extra for the professionalism and knowledge. Almost all the hardware was changed with new oem.
The AFR tuning was pretty much accomplished with Xavier Borg's FC-Tweak. As where all the other little "tweaks". I am truly amazed that we don't hear more about it. Takes away from tuners $ I guess? No idea, but the program is amazing. I don't know why tuners don't use it. Anyway, Ari at RX7.com was also a massive help. Incredible and honest guy that I really enjoy doing business with. His knowledge is amazing and he does not skimp on quality.
Changed the plugs. Both front and rear were the same and as expected a bit rich... the trailing are a bit odd with half and half. I forgot what that is all about so I will have to look it up.
I am happy to put the new plugs in now that it isn't always pig rich. I am curious to see how they look in 1k or so as I am premixing quite a bit. I may back it to about 1.25 oz per gal.
It would be a much more exciting pic if they were installed! They have arrived. Hopefully I can vet them mounted in the next few days while I put the car up to move and replace the afr sensor.
I believe I am not getting as accurate readings as I would like in the stock location.... duh
Got a new AEM bung with cooling fins and a new Bosch sensor. So far seems very accurate and solid. Tach is messed up again. So I guess I will get that taken care of and tweak my tune... maybe I can install coilovers while waiting for tach repair.

Some make it sound as if it is simple. I think if they are original bushings a press is needed. Or a very serious manual setup. Like industrial strength bolt with a lot of leverage.

So the Fortunes are in. What a pain the front was.... The clearance is insanely tight on the front for the lower A arm. I am waiting on a clutch master cylinder before I can test it all out, but progress is being made.
Kind of funny, I know this thing is making some good power, but the *** just seemed a little too easy to kick around. Looking at the old coilovers (old... they have less than 3500 miles probably) the springs are reversed lol. That may be part of the issue.
When you say the *** is easy to kick around, do you mean it has excessive oversteer? That could be caused by a tight rear suspension. Softer springs and sway bar may help

I guess what I am saying is the *** is purposely kicked around using a heavy right foot in the corner, but it kicks too easy. The stiffer springs were in the rear... probably why I feel it kick a little easier than I think it should. Funny how things slip past manufacturers, shops, and even the owners.
I am just simply showing that they were installed improperly. Not by me. Now it is rectified and a better coilover in general.
Gotcha, wasn't tracking. I am finding more and more i have to do things myself. I had someone do brakes on another car a while ago and when i got home the pads were disintegrated. Instead of having it towed and dealing with the inconvenience, i just did it myself.
Alignment day!!! I would consider all major expenses and work on suspension complete. It was dialed in with H Coleman's recommendations. All went well.
The only thing I may add to the suspension is sway bar mounts. All the front bushings look excellent, but I will eventually get around to swapping them. Starting with the steering. No rush whatsoever.
Still not sure how the ride height will work out with the new coilovers. I will just keep an eye as I push it harder and harder through all these turns we have in South FL. The ride quality is excellent though and at higher speeds it doesn't feel so floaty anymore.
I have decided to swap injectors. I will be going with some id1300 or id1700 with some concerns that are present with the large bosch 2200s I am currently running. I will try to pull the pump later this week and finalize the rewire on that side of the bulkhead..... procrastination continues for now.
I will not be boosting over 10 or 11 until I finalize this tune and fix the leaning conditions after multiple pulls in the higher fuel cells. Even at 10-11 psi it is hauling so it's all good for now. Better to be safe than sorry. Trying to get it all ready for the DGRR!
So the fuel pump inside tank has a few added wires, and the Sakebomb/Garage Alpha fuel baffle is installed! It runs and appears to run a tad more rich, but I haven't had a chance for logs yet. There was an additional ground cable ran to the hangar. So 4 16gauge were added total and I kept the stock wire setup also.
Fuel Pressure gauge and Failsafe boost/afr combi gauge coming soon.
So my intermittent leaning in high boost, high cells on 1/4 tank or less seems to be resolved. It appeared to be the O ring causing the issue. I consider this tune to be as good as it can get. It runs flawless makes good power and I believe I have room to up the boost with no issues in the future. I will keep a very close eye on things for awhile, but I consider this to be complete and I finally have a kick *** low mileage FD I can have some fun with!!!!!!
I have a few more things to add, but all in the name of safety and longevity.
Good day today. If I never mentioned before I got an "upgraded" alternator from IRP and swapped out the pulley to keep my Pettit under drive pulley. Not a good idea as the voltage was still low for a street car imo. At least at idle and lower rpm. I am still having a little more fluctuations in voltage than I would like. Even in high boost/high rpm.
So......
I put the intended pulley back on and I installed the Pineapple racing idler pulley and replaced both belts. I hope this will clean up some of my odd voltage I've been seeing. It will definitely help on the lower rpms.
While I have the IC out I went ahead and took out the intake pipes so I could install my Apexi boost solenoid!!! I just have to verify where to plug it in, but the hoses are attached! Pretty excited to see if I can smooth out this transition a bit.
