Not gonna lie, that IRP Half-bridgy with Ihor's 'Super-Uki' exhaust ports sounded so gawddamn good ripping around the track that I've been contemplating moving to that ever since

Should use ORB's (straight cut threads with O-ring) as NPT seal from friction on the threads.

If nothing else use steal vs aluminum fittings for thermal expansion rates.

Either way - sucks

The update is The motor was pulled and disassembled. The front iron is definitely cracked. Oil pan had a quart of oil in it so the bearings and everything else is good. I purchased a new iron from atkins and have finally sent out the iron to goopy to cut the bridge then I will go from there with getting the rest of the porting done. Now that it is warm out I wanna drive it again.

So I started working on the car. I am upgrading the battery cables from 4 to 1/0 gauge. After driving the car for like an hour the wires would be warm so I think larger gauge wires was in order. I should be getting the front iron back this week and I will then start on the reassembly of the block.

These are the wires I used.

To install the wires and to clean up the messy interior I also removed the seats. There was a ton of **** under there. LOL

I plan to have this car running and driving in about 6 weeks.

I did the exact same thing last month, swapped from 4ga to 1/0, also using welding cable although not the same brand. I haven't tried starting the car yet because half the engine bay is still torn apart. But I had some slow cranking issues at one point and figured this was worth a shot. I never felt if they were warm before.

^ I never had cranking issues. I think the larger wire was needed due to the electric water pump drawing a lot of power.

This came in the mail last night. So excited to start on the motor soon.

Also im selling my ECU and patch harness if interested. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati.../#post12054102

So any word as to what caused the failure? Scared to try my own single turbo setup if this can happen to even the most robust of builds.

So I went to the new IRP on Sunday it is a real nice new shop. big thanks to Ihor for letting me use his porting tools to port my iron. I think I did a good job for a first timer. Also thanks for helping me assemble the motor.

Thanks

I really hope to have the motor running by sunday evening but realistically it will be probably like tuesday or wednesday the following week.

Im currently working on relocating the fuse/relay boxes and hating every second of it but once its done it should be nice.
