Back on topic. 4 rotor please.
Hmmm, trade for the Rx4......that is tempting!

So I finally figured out how to transfer some old videos to youtube and edit them. This was two years ago, open track day. Not going all out on the car, but its cool to get an idea of in-car

Thanks for posting Logan. I've enjoyed following this build.

Are you planning in having the car at Mid Ohio at all this year? I normally run with PCA but would love to come up and see it run sometime and get a closer look at the car.

Rx4 rotor?! You know it makes sense.

I like the in car footage, you only change up gear once the entire lap!

That is the plan, should be able to without any issues. You can ride in it if you like!

Lol, it does make sense! I miss my old Rx4

Yeah I figured it was only a open track day, no need to downshift more than that. Technically it would have been faster if I went into 2nd on those two hairpins.

Shows good spread of power though, I like how the engine noise overwhelms the gear box whine as the rpms rise

Grant... I don't know if you looked at how flat the torque curve on an NA is? An NA 3 rotor makes same torque from 1000-9000 or so.

Gordon
Yeh I know, but just watching the car shows that pulls well all the way.

I was actually waiting for the pssshht of the turbo but realised I was watching something better!

I'm going to be honest, I'm only down a little over one page in this thread so far, but WOW!!!

I'll try to read through the rest of it this week, but I want to take my time so it can soak in a little bit. Many of your ideas and projects can't cross over to my own applications, but I'm impressed with your dedication and how far you will go to meet your goals.

Mad respect for this build...

^ You mean you missed the part where the V8 Rx-7 guys came in telling us how much better their engines are than ours? You'll get there. I'm not even an N/A guy, and this is my favourite thread on the entire website. I always look forward to updates.

Keep up the good work Logan, and don't let the haters sway your commitment!

Gordon might have been a bit generous stating the torque is the same from 1k to 9k, but it is pretty flat. However there is our signature "double bubble" that is at 3-5k and 7-10k. 6.5-10k is its happy place lol. Shoot, that video was back at 410 rwhp too. I've never felt it at 475, will have to drive the 240 for that

You know its going good when your thread has its own "v8 section". We cover it all! I think everyone stayed pretty civil. Besides, there is always Deal Gap meet. 1st one to stay on my bumper the way down the dragon using a V8 gets a free T-shirt :-P

And many thanks Trots! I sent you a PM earlier too

I'd really appreciate that. Just shoot me a PM when you figure out your schedule if you would, or post here and I'll see it.

I may run with MORPCA at Mid Ohio in April, but likely my first weekend will be with Norther NJ PCA in May. They're both really well run events by great groups and are welcoming to all car types.

Yeah for sure. I just noticed you are in columbus right by us. What type of Porsche do you run? Do you have Rx7 that gets tracked too?

I shall except this challenge....In a few years, when I learn how to drive. :-P

Seriously, hope to see this car in person this year. Very impressive build and you seem to make quality products as well.

^ You may want to see a video of Logan on the Tail before committing to this. He's the fastest legal (read stays in the lanes) driver on the Tail I have ever seen. And that was with his measly 3-rotor. Now that he has his 4 rotor track setup car, I'd put money on him all the time.

An you are right, he's also a very very good driver

Just let his tyres down before you race him, gives you a 5 min head start

I live on the NE side of Columbus. I stopped by your dad's old shop once to just poke my head around, but I don't believe we've met before. I need to try to stop over at your new place sometime this year.

I don't own a Porsche and track my FD. I run with the PCA because they're well run events, have a nice group of people who are accepting of all cars, and mostly because my brother is a national PCA instructor so we go to the events together. Unfortunately my FD can't keep pace with his GT3, but I'm always working on closing that gap.

Cool Story Bro

U are right, measly 3 rotors are for little girls. Especially when you have to add a turbo. :-P

Are there videos you know of? I only saw one so far. Thanks for the compliments David, I still have a ways to go in the driving department!

Thanks Austin, we hope to make this years meet. In three years we can have a fun run :-) shouldn't be too hard, I hold back a lot to keep everyone safe!

Wow, lots of arguing around here about V8s and rotaries. Seems like all parties enjoy starting ****, though.

Anyway, your work is impressive, as always. Keep it up. Sounds like you're a good wheelman, too.

Oh, and BTW, that TT LS/FD has the same ground clearance up front as a stock FD. I can take a pic with a measuring tape when it gets back from the shop doing the rear end work. That is an early picture, the housings have been modified since. Speaking as a fabricator on it, my everything hurts after putting it together.

Thanks digital, I feel your pain on the twin turbo setup. After doing some twin turbo Corvettes I cringe thinking about it lol. When I'm wrong I'm wrong, I can admit it :-) Everyone has strong opinions when they have a dog in the fight!

You're right. Muh bad.

I am really interested in the power you'll be able to get from the 4 rotor after you got so much from the 20b.

Our 4 rotor is a bit special, since rpm potential is higher than most two rotors. So it has the capacity for really insane power, just tweaking it to get there will take a little bit. :-)

Logan in your experience, does adding more rotors in itself lead to more high rpm instability? For example, everything else being equal would a 2 rotor be safer at 10k than a 3 rotor? I was always under the assumption that was true, so just wondering if a 4 rotor would be inherently more "wobbly" (for lack of better words) and need extra bearing support?
