Update..

Tires are on the wheels and are 'kind' of mounted on the car. I'm using cheapo spacers to bring the wheel out in the front the clear the RZ calipers... I went out for a drive and it drove like crap because of the cheapo spacers.. I'm waiting on my 15mm spacers to get in sometime next week.

Here is how it fits with 7.6mm front and 20mm rear spacers.

Front - 255/35/18 Michelin PS2

Rear - 295/30/18 Michelin PS2

How it sits in different angles.

Dear god i made it through all 23 pages. This is an awesome build/builds. My questions so far is where did you get the carbon center part for the '99 spec wing and which rear defuser are you using on the SSM? Also what kind of brakes are you using for the rear, normal or RZ spec calipers?

Here is my updated UIM...

UIM I had for about 5 years... Garfinkle did his magic polishing, welding, opening up the inside, etc... I never used it because I was waiting on my larger ported stock TB... which I never got.

But since I have the Rotary Work TB, I thought I use it instead of the stock one I had on.

All the un necessary nipples are cut and welded... for cleaner look.

All the emission junk have been taken off..

and hole was cut on the top for uniqueness...

Very purdy, you must not have cruise control. My DIY polish job isn't even half as blingy as that.

I like those feed front fenders but I always wondered with those and the R-Magic set, how do you keep them clean? Don't the tires kick up pebbles and dirt? Do you have to wash it every single day? Don't you get rock chips?

yeah, they do get chipped...

I have a guard made out of CF that goes on top of the fender.. I'll post some pics of that.

I'll be selling some of these in the future.

that's the 90mm throttle body right? did you notice an increase in performance or throttle response from it? I've been thinking about getting one while my motor is apart, it's either that or porting the stock one.

Hey, I had the Odula carbon wing first. (hehe, just messin' with ya). I do have a serious question though; On the throttle body, do you have low speed issues? That is a single plate and OEM is dual plate. On the dual, only one is cracked open to put around (parking lots, stop go traffic, etc). I removed my low speed butterflies on my CBR 1000 and opened up the airbox removing all baffles so putting around can be a little boggy.

Yep its the 90mm TB from RW. I haven't really tested out but by my 2 min drive the other day, it felt pretty good. I'm having some idle issuse but it should be a simple fix.. just don't have ton of time these days..

LOL! Its AutoEXE deck and not the Odula knock off.. J/K!! But I do have the Odula CF side covers for the spoiler base.

I've only driven for about 2 mins around the block after fixing my PFC issue.. I didn't notice any low speed issues.. but the car felt more responsive. That could be because I haven't really driven my car before and I was having some issues with my PFC where my car was driving like *** (because it was reading 5lb higher than actual boost). I'm planning to fix the idle issue and drive around to take some new pictures of the car.

You should visit the Porsche forum and check the GT3 997 sub forum for some serious vulgarity.

Good stuff but I'm against body kits on street cars. The car is a masterpiece as is and a body kit ruins the true beauty. Some nice suttle frame pieces like front and rear spoilers and fancy wheels allow the essense to pop out but covering it up with garbage is, well garbage

Phil,
So you've got 295/30's on 10" wheels, what are the 255/35 fronts on? 9"? Do you notice a significant difference in how the tire sits (i.e.: degree of sidewall stretch)?

I hear ya Fritz and I respect individual taste And because of this, I think you'll prefer the SSM FD when I'm done with it. It will consist of mostly OEM parts.

Also 10s on front.. I wanted to put wider tires but when I did before with different wheels (285/30s), I didn't quite like how it drove. For the street I think this is ok, but track, I would prefer using skinnier wheel.. Not that I'm a huge track guy This is mainly for looks.. I never stretched tires before but in this case, I gave it a try... I might go with 265/35s on 10s and 305/30s back next time around.

I feel ya and have loads of respect for anyone with your dedication and love for the FD and can't wait to see the SSM car.

However with that said it's a sweet kit (cough, cough on a race car) but that 99 wing isn't flowing with the rest of the agressive attitude, you need a fat wing on that fat body

I hear you—I run the 285/30 front tire on track, but don't see where it's necessary at all on the street. I'm currently 255/275 on the street, and it's a good combo.

Was thinking specifically about the asthetics, i.e.: my 275 is on a 10" rim, and 255 on a 9" rim, and the both look about equally "comfortable" on those widths.... you've got significantly wider than that in the rear, and the same up front on the same wheel widths... wondering if the sidewall stance (stretch) looks mismatched at all (it'd be worse if you went 305, that's a lot of tire to put on a 10" rim)?

Thanks Fritz! I've been collecting some rare unique parts over the past few months... mostly parts that are labeled by Mazda and less of aftermarket parts company.. Only thing that I'm not going to use will be Mazda wheels and suspensions.

yeah... I know... I'm hoping to start destroying this car on the track maybe starting next year sometime.. And will put a BIG wing on it. I was tempted to get the FEED wing...
I also want to start experimenting on tuning and see what I can do. Once the engine goes, I have a 20B waiting for it to go in.. But all this probably not until if we are moving out of Bham, AL or not.

I think you are right about that. 305 might be too wide. I have 305 mounted on my SSR comps (18x10.5) and it seems to be good. 10 might be bit too much.. Maybe I'll stick with 265s?? We'll see.. I'm hoping to get some new tires and try it out.

I got my spacers!! I'm hoping to get them installed sometime tomorrow and get an updated shot of the car..

I also put the covers for the FEED signals. I have both real FEED covers and replica covers I bought on the forum. I put the replica's on just to see how much abuse it will see over next year or so.. Also the replica has a bluish tint that kind of goes well with my MB color.

YES! Finally! The lack of covers had been bugging me for a long time now

Looking good Philly Phil. Btw, I have a spare Mazdaspeed horn button and oil filler cap laying around if you're on the hunt
