John, I'm sorry.. but at least you know I'm getting good use out of that RE-A speedo.

My next plan when I get off my *** is to install this RE-A speedo to the matching green lid to more rare cluster... Mazda RE 30th Anniversary Cluster..

I'm not looking forward to taking the cluster out...

Normal Cluster Surround, I would say its not bad (I've done at least 10 times).

But the CF one was bit tricky and I have to be pretty careful not to scratch it.. I'm just too lazy to do that right now as I might have to get behind it for something else.

Good question.. now I think about it, i think it might be red. I have to double check. Either case, I'll have the RE one on.. and if I do sell it, John gets a first dib as it was his before mine..

Thanks! I love the look of the car inside now.. looks bit more updated... even though it serves zero performance gain

Yeah, That's for sure. I have personally broke 3 so far... out of about 10+ times I took these things off. I will say the CF version is much stronger (as I put more force before). But its bit harder for it to stay on.

Anyhow, I actually have one that I need to glue together and maybe even reinforce the back with some FG or something...

Sometimes, this is what I do..

Just stand in front of the car staring at it and think about things I need to do.... or polish stuff for no good reason because it relaxes me...

Update...

Well, not much of an update but an update..

I've recently purchased some underbracing for the MB FD.. The company is called Ultra Racing. Product seems to be well made. I thought they will be made out of cheap mild steel but they are made out of quality aluminum.

Both front and rear probably weigh less than 10lb (maybe 8lbs) with hardware and costs about 400 shipped.

Hopefully I'll get to install it this weekend.. Pending if I could find some time to work on it.

Also those of you wanting to know about DGRR 2011, I am also working on that. I should have a date set and registration should open sometime in the beginning of Jan 2011.

That 30th anv cluster is backlit amber. You could just strip the film off the back of the re-amemiya speedo and then put in some red or amber leds. Or get a 99 spec cluster as those are backlit green to match. The re-amemiya speedo was released in both amber and green, both are impossible to find.

That is a good idea, but I prefer not to mess with lights.

I also have the Spirit R cluster which I'm pretty sure lights green. Next time around, I'll put the RE-A Speedo into the Spirit R Cluster.

DGRR 2011 update... I'm about to lock in the date.
