Ouch... I ******* hate the sound of an engine running on one rotor

Best of luck with that

So you checked the compression after the "first start" video? It is clearly running on one rotor in that video and typically if it is just flooded, that will clear right up after a rev or two. Sounds like it was blown prior to this project.

Yea, I was thinking that it sounded like the idle was wrong, but I don't get into rotaries that much so I didn't say anything.

^^ I agree, that was my first impression from the first start video. I sounded as though it was missing.

I posted this in your other thread and felt it was important here too:

Sorry for all of the issues. This is a very nice build and I hope you get it straightened out.

I'd agree on the first startup. Sounds very rough there as well. Thought it was a PP engine.

My advice to you, pending no success with the ATF trick, is to take the engine/car to Jesus Padilla at Kilo Racing in St. Cloud FL. His telephone number is 407.810.8123. He's the best engine guy and tuner in FL, is very reasonable, and has fixed a number of engines built and tuned by the "other tuner" I think you used, especially if you went to Rolo's shop. If you know Bewtew and his former tuner then you know who I am talking about. Jesus can diagnose this quickly and have you back on the road in no time. I'd also highly recommend him to do the tuning on your car in the future. He saved my 3 rotor project - "Jesus Saves"

thanks for all the support guys! good to have the FD gurus on my side loll

i just started the "ATF Trick" process, used Marvel Mystery Oil instead of ATF

hopefully this does the trick, i'll be letting it work and soak in for the next 3 or 4 days as i'm studying for my finals LOL

:-( worth going!!

I hope to have it resolved soon and you can enjoy it, you deserve it, such a project is not seen every day.

I've had my fd stopped a year and two months, due to financial problems, tore it from time to time, and when I had to get ready, start it and it sounded just like you, remove the spark plugs, checked wires, clean spark plugs and others, and when hot start gave him a couple of controlled accelerations and came back to life and has not failed again, it shows that they stand to feel bad seals ...

with luck!!

I'd do a steam clean....that'd probly be quicker. Dunno if i'd leave atf in there for that long... but I'm not atf expert haha

I ended up using Marvels Mystery Oil instead of ATF, hopefully its not as harsh on the rest of the motor and just gets rid of any rust or build up to loosen up the seals

throw some premix through the sprak plug holes and turn the motor by hand to help lubricate the engine

more forced upgrades..... 20b?!?!

So what you're saying is... Its almost LS time?

Read the whole thing, great build and I wish you the best of luck with the MMO instead of the ATF. Didn't get to watch the videos though as my bandwidth here sucks (in Afgh currently)

Wow this car is well done! Sucks to hear about the engine. I like the twin 18g setup. Figures crossed the mmo works.

Nice build! My fc is also running on a Re Amemiya twin manifold w/ td05x2. I ran into the one rotor problem once after letting it sit for a month. It was idling exactly like yours. I let it soaked in atf for awhile then cranked it over a few times and fired it up. After about two start up(from cold to normal operating temperature) it started idling normal again and compression was back up. Hopefully you only have stuck seals. Best wishes.
