Educate me! lol
Thanks

Mainly just because everything I already had was for a front mount.

I have never had a problem with cooling with a front mount (might be because of the shere size of it) so didnt see the point in doing all that work just to change to V mount. That and once I get my a into G and make the ducting for the front, it will hopefully act as a bit of a front wing with the ducting running from the bumper>intercooler>radiator>out the bonnet with a nice curve.

I dont really know a lot about aero, but surely it cant be good to have all that air comming through the front and then direct half of it under the front of the car, where you really would want as lower pressure as possible?? Ill be looking into this side of things a lot more once the car is running.

Nice build mate!

Your roll cage looks very similar to mine, except I put a diagonal in the roof and corner gussets everywhere.

And I painted my end plates a very similar colour.

Good luck, I'll be watching your progress with interest.

Thanks for sharing

Yeah it comes up really strange in photos. It looks completly different. I am however having second thoughts about the amount of different blues in there with all the lines etc. Might see if I can find a blue closer to the radiator pipes, and if not, just change it all to the grey lol.

just my 2 cents, but that is a visually "noisy" and "distracting" engine bay, doesn't really fit. There's just too much going on with the colors, blue, yellow, grey, stainless/polished, red, black

Yeah im not finished yet haha.

Anything thats stainless/polished in these pics (apart from the braided line of corse) will be off to the powder coaters and going grey. The air filter is going bye byes and will be replaced with something....most likly a cold air box with a filter ya cant see.

I went with blue to try and math the blue vacume lines/anodised fittings, but the selection was really limited. Once its all back together, ill re evaluate the blue and might change that to grey as well.....or black maybe.

Never you mind, it'll look good when its finished........and then Ill wreck it all by thrashing the ***** off the car on the track =P

I think your doing a fantastic job so far. Plan to start a similar project myself in the not too distant future, so I'll be keeping a close eye on your project for tips/ideas/advice. Really like the colour scheme too, makes a refreshing change from the glitzy bling look so many other people go for. I'd love to know more about the wiring, any info/pics would be much appreciated.
Keep up the good work!

I havnt been well over the last few days so havnt got much done. Tonight I manged to start sorting out the intercooler piping. I was going to weld these extentions to the intercooler, but have decided to just extend the pipes themselves. Might not be this weekend though....the dahm welder ran ou of gas . Will mean they will need to go back to the powder coaters at some point to, but thats no biggie as I was gonna send away some other parts like the filler neck/thermostat housing anyway.

Don't forget to coat the new hangers for the Oil Coolers. Give them a little extra protection. It's looking good. I still await a PM reply!!! Thanks for your help too.

Small update:
ECU came back - now with 3bar MAP, Wideband input, On board data logging
Received my MSD leads
Heater hose turned up
Intercooler pipes, filler neck and thermostat housing are off at the powder coaters
Intercooler is getting solvant washed then sent to get ultrasonicly cleaned to rid any grinding dust.

Bumper is in the process of being fitted with quick release fasteners and I will make a start on the splitter at some point in the next few weeks.

Another small update.

Got the ECU back and installed. Checked all systems and everything looks good. Fans, fuel pumps, launch controll and pit limiter inputs all working. TPS setup....its all ready to start when all the parts of the motor are installed.

I got board of working on the car.....and found some busted uniden RTs lying around.....soooooo. My helmet now has built in coms lol. Works amazingly well to. Two RT speakers mounted in the foam, and a mic. I will post pics once finished, but its crystal clear, even with a vid of the car racing at full volume in the background, my old man could hear me talking in a ralitivly quiet voice =P.

haha well....I work in IT (I should be buying a house, but **** it.....racing cars is more fun =P ), am an ex mechanic so all the work is done by myself, My old man is into boat building so I have access to metal tools and a really good TIG, I recently got rit of my GF and moved back home to finish the car

I actully havnt figured out how Im going to switch the radio on and off....was thinking about finding some sort of volume activated switch so it picks up when im talking automaticly......otherwise it will just be a button on the steering wheel and only used on the straights.

yea thats what i was thinking about the button on the steering wheel. but volume acticated wont work, there is way to much noise comming from the engine, wastegate, and wind if the windows are down... may not sound loud with the helmat on since you have the padding around your ears but where the mic is i am not sure it will work...

make a write up of how you do it!! so i can fab something up myself!
