Knee-deep in my current build
Rich, on the weird knock sensor readings, it's been a theory of mine that noise can be caused by bad wiring from the knock sensor to the PFC. Might be worth trying a run of shielded wire from the sensor back to the ECU. I think you can get shielded wire at Radio Shack. The core carries the signal, the braided shield can be grounded to help cancel out noise.
Either that or something on your motor is noisy and is faking knock. Motor hitting something when moving on the motor mounts, noisy alternator, etc. could be a culprit.

Damn Rich...I didn't even realize until now that you're doing a full-overhaul of your FD. I like the direction you're taking it. I wasn't a fan of the R1 wing...love the FEED though. And the URAS lights look fantastic. Haven't seen them much.
Re Steering Wheel: What finish is that on the wheel...leather? I have a 330mm one and it looks a bit different...a bit darker to be specific.

So I was going through some of the old posts from this thread when I saw a picture of your cat when I realized, I've had a picture of what appears to be your cat hiding under one of your rims saved on my computer for years.
Any chance of getting a picture of your car from the side with the fikse's on? I went back to like page 4 and didn't see a very good one.

exhaust manifold?
Big D,
appreciate the input. I extended my knock sensor wire and unscrewed it from the rotor housing. grounded it, and moved it around that side of the engine bay while free rev'ing the engine. Knock was just about nil, between 1 and 5 (instead of 100 to 150). So I dont think it's a noise issue.
Now the alternator is a different story. Will look into that, thanks
thanks Riz. I think the flash made my wheel look off on the color, it's black as midnight
The Uras were cheaper than OEM, but more expensive than the knockoffs.
Lol, that cat is Joey Bridgestone. We adopted her from a garage after I took my Fikses to have the tires mounted and they were trying to give her away.
Re: the pic, in my albums under my profile there is a nice side shot.
*smooch*

The car as it sits now, I removed my cluster and am in the process of getting a nice pretty 2002 cluster from purerx7/rx7 boutique
After over 120,000 chassis miles the gauge cluster and hood had never been removed from my car, but it came out with zero problems or broken tabs. I guess spending it's life in a moderate climate and always garaged helped a bit

The 2002 should look really nice in there
- It may be an idea to paint your dash panels while you have one out...The difference it makes if done properly is amazing! I did mine in charcoal gray met.

Thomas, that is indeed my FD (with 245 pounds of Ihor Huk riding shotty, notice the car is tilted a bit on the passenger side), but that is *not* Scrubby. It's Mr. David Garfinkle's FD.

I was at the Jets game yesterday and while I'm not a huge fan, their complete and utter ineptitude really bummed me out.
Then I received a box from Mr. Crowe at Malloy Mazda and cheered back up. We're very lucky these parts are even still available, and the price for these two wasn't bad at all. Feel free to call him at 888 533 3400 and support a forum vendor
Note the 'Made in Japan' on the tag and the nice little packet of desiccant to keep the metal brackets from rusting

j/k you def gotta come down next time Rich makes a trip to DE

The 2002 cluster will be a nice addition to your interior.
